Sent out STD's and guest already mentioned they can't come...
A friend of mine just emailed me telling me she received our STD's and her BF is in another wedding that weekend, so they can't come.
Do I still send her an invitation? Obviously, it opens up two spots on my guest list- but, how do I handle this??

You send invite (things do occ change) and then plan on inviting the other two -- these folks are usually really good about sending in RSVP's said the planner -- we have not even done STD's and I have some nos.

Right- figured I should still send-- since they are still technically invited..
It's weird.. I thought she would not come anyway- she just moved to the west coast.. so she would need to travel, but it still feels weird to have someone tell you they can't come.
Kinda sad- even though you want some no's and people not to come!

wow...thats insane. One of my bioggest fears is that every other bride in LI has beaten me to my to do list and theres noone who can be my vendor or be a guest!

I had that paranoia too- that's why I was a vendor booking nazi. Didn't think about other weddings on my weekend though.

I had the same paranoia since I am getting married on a holiday. A few of my cousins (all married over 13 years ago and I did everything for their weddings... while a very poor college/grad student I might add) are already complaining which gets me crazy because I can't begin to tell you how much I was there for them during their weddings and subsequent children... A LOT of children. I've been a bit disappointed in my family (cousin's mostly) since I've announced my news. I often told FH that this is the litmus test. If they don't attend and don't have a VERY GOOD excuse (basically life or death...no one else missed anyone elses wedding in my family) then I really know and I am no longer holding up my end of the relationship.

I am in the same boat- I have been to the weddings and showers of ALL of my cousins, and I am the last one. My aunt did not speak to my dad for 2 years because he was unable to be at her son's wedding (my dad was in a job where he traveled and would have lost a lot of $$ to come home). She, my uncle and two cousins are not coming to my wedding.

lol I have thought that at times also. thats why i booked everything soooo early

Definitely send the invitation. I think it would be wierd to get a STD but then not the invitation.
