SeptBride03 - PJCC

SeptBride03 - PJCC

The Port Jeff CC was wonderful! I was so happy with the way that everything turned out. My husband and I fell in love with the place the minute we saw it. The windows in the reception room are just beautiful and the waterview really, really added to the atmosphere of our wedding.

Regarding PJCC's staff...everyone was curteous and helpful. My bridal attendant was Darcy, and she was very considerate of my entire family the day of the wedding. She got the staff to hustle and bring out some appetizers b/c we arrived a bit earlier than planned. She also made sure that my husband and I didn't miss the food at our cocktail hour and she packed our dinners 'to go' b/c we didn't get to sit down for long at the reception.

Preston was a great help during the planning stages, and was very accommodating to the ideas that I wanted to use in order to personalize my wedding. There was never a problem naming my tables instead of using numbers. (Not every catering hall is so accommodating. My friend, Michele31, is having a problem trying to do this at her hall.)

PJCC was also very flexible with our package. They changed the menu after we booked our wedding, so they let us upgrade some choices and add a carving station without an additional cost. They also gave us a good deal on the shrimp cocktail bar during the cocktail hour b/c we were owed a credit for bringing in our own cake and flowers (instead of using the house vendors).

If you have any other questions about how my day went, feel free to send me a forum mail, or an email to [email protected]
Best of luck with your plans!

Thanks for sharing, I'm getting married at PJCC next summer. I have a question, what do you mean you brought in your flowers, I didn't think they were included. Also, what was your menu? Was it tasty?

You are right - the flowers are not included in the price per person now. However, when I booked three years ago, they were quoting prices based upon using the PJCC house florist. Since I didn't use the house florist, they said I'd get a $25 credit per table.

However, they may be structuring their packages and pricing differently now.

The menu was prime rib, stuffed chicken, and salmon. Everyone raved about the food. It was delicious. I had guests thanking my parents for months after the wedding. And, my husband's family was floored by the amount of food and the selection during the cocktail hour.

I had my tasting today at PJCC. Steve brought out 3 plates full of goodies from the cocktail hour. Let me tell you I was stuffed after just the first plate everything was delicious. I can't wait 26 days to go!!!

Claud, Thanks so much for the help! I'm excited, I think it will be great! We haven't done our tasting yet, because they said we could bring our parents and my fiancee's live in PA, but they will be up to visit soon. I know we're having chateau briand, but I'm not sure on which chicken and fish yet. I might write you again with questions! Thanks!
