So I'm wondering when is everyone starting their alterations for their gowns? My Mother and I are fussing...she thinks I should start now and I think it's too early..

I personally think it is too early. I would probably do it first week in July - that way you're about 8 weeks out. It's close enough so your weight probably won't flucuate too much, but far away enough to give the alterations person time to finish what needs to be done.

i am an early august bride...sorry to crash but my store told me they typically start alterations 4 weeks prior to the wedding date i am getting married 8/6 and have my first fitting June 25th...which is earlier then the store wanted but I am away the first and third weeks of july so it limits my time

I'm gonna go with way too early. My dress isn't supposed to come in until June and I'm pretty sure I'll be starting alterations in July.

I started my alterations in mid-July, with my wedding 9/3, and needed every moment of it --- that's Adrienne's fault though... But you never know.
