I just saw the movie Serenity this weekend and I learned that it was based on the short lived Fox show 'Firefly'. DH and I were thinking about renting the season on DVD - is it worth watching? And if you saw the show and the movie, which did you like more, the show or the movie?

havent seen the movie but seen lots of the series.. Jim likes it.. its 'different' not bad

yeah, it's definitely different - I kind of like the way the dialogue can get sarcastic out of no where.

Jim says its more of the same and worth if you like the movie.

DH likes it, but it was cancelled so it ends abruptly & it covers a lot of the same ground as the movie.

OK, How much do I LOVE FIREFLY!!!!????!!!!!!
I never even HEARD of the series before I saw the movie. Loved the movie. Bought the DVDs for DH in Feb, and we are ABSOLUTELY HOOKED.
The series is not only worth the rental, IMO it's worth the purchase. I saw it at Amazon for $25 recently, but that might have been a special promotion. Anyway please trust me when I say that this is some of the best television I've seen in a LONG TIME. Trust Fox to cancel all the good shows, right?
