Serious Lame-O

Serious Lame-O

This guy that sits next to me at work is old. Ridiculously old. Hearing aids, thick glasses, cranky attitude.

So he starts typing something in MsWord. The font is SO big that I can read it from my cubicle (we have blasted half walls). The document he is typing is his OUT OF OFFICE VOICEMAIL message. He is typing it up so that when he changes his voicemail, he can just read it from the page. As if this isn't bad enough, he SAVED the document so he can record it later. LOL

I hope when I am old, I am not as anal and cranky as this guy.

I'm embarrassed to say that I do the same thing. I read it like a script.

But it's not written in size 48 font.

I can't hate on old people. I love them one and all. They are super cute.

At least he knows how to use word. My mom is 54 and I caught her holding the computer mouse in her hand the other day shaking it in the air saying, 'Why doesn't this dang thing move anywhere'

me too. I get all nervous and need to write it down so I don't screw up.

Old people are cute. I hope when I am old I am cute.

I think that I'm the only one who just doesn't want to get old. I'm afraid of aging.

I do the same thing, I'm not embarassed to admit it!!! I stink at leaving messages, you'd think I was an idiot with the way I stammer!! So I write it out like a script too and then read it verbatim into my phone, I wait until the end of the day after everyone leaves when it's nice and quiet.

ETA: I also find old people cute. I'm already cute now so I can only imagine how cute I'll be when I'm a grandma.

What's the point of having a smooth face when your neck is like chicken waddle?

Re: Serious Lame-O

I just wrote my script and changed my vm message. My maiden name ended in a 'in' sound, so it wasn't easy to say: You have reached Tricia ******in in the Networking department...

Too many n's. But my new name is much easier.

My mother left me a voicemail, all sad. She said it was the first time she heard me say my married name.
