FH has a groomsman who is one of his best friends, he's really a great guy but he's been married for about 4-5 years (right after college) and his wife pushes him around more than anything now. She basically tells him what she wants - like now she's ready to have a baby and she makes him feel like it's not a choice. Well, everytime he talks about our wedding and our new house he says to my FH 'Wait until the ring goes on and it's no more smiles and yes honey anymore'... Well honestly, I tell FH how I feel and he tells me - I don't just 'Yes Honey' him anyway! I mean really I know it's not about me personally but that's so offensive!!
Oh edited to add - I would definitely say something to him but he doesn't know FH tells me he says this...

I would just ignore him. LOL Boys will be boys! FH has a group of friends and all are single and give him crap that he won't be allowed to do anything once he is married.. yea ok! FH & I laugh at it and keep it at that! Don't take it to heart just because his relationship stinks! LOL

Yes it's beyond annoying! It doesn't bother FH because I'm wide open with him about how I feel about everything and in our relationship I'm the one who took a long time to be ready! People don't realize that everyone is different so don't go around thinking it's the same!

Don't sweat it...if your FH isnt paying it any mind and if the friend isn't saying it in front of you who cares!! He is miserable and you know what they say 'misery loves company' he thinks he is looking out for his biy because his miserable relationship is all he knows. Don't let it get to you

Agree! FH doesn't have 1 guy friend saying positive things about marriage--not 1! Then again, I already had to change the names on my guest list bc 4 MARRIED couples have split since our guest list was written! We aren't those guys...

FH is the first to get married in his family and within his group of friends, but we've been very fortunate that they all love me and are supportive. When something is said, it's always in a joking way, which doesn't bother me. This guy is just mad because he's whipped.
