Seriously, anyone good with makeup?

I have been a complete mess lately and last night (have been all tired during the day and sleeping poorly) went to get a cup of tea and tripped face forward. Now I have a huge black eye -- anyone have any makeup ideas -- it looks awful! Please help!

Re: Seriously, anyone good with makeup?

OMG!

I'm horrible, can't even put my own eyeshadow on... I can only suggest a big pair of Jackie O sunglasses.

I hope it doesn't hurt.

Oh, now I remember a product called Derma-blend... for people with scars. It reportedly covers everything and I think it's available in some dept. stores. Try Macy's that might be where I saw it.

Re: Seriously, anyone good with makeup?

Ouch! Glad you weren't hurt too bad. I wear Bare Escentuals and I use a product called bisque. It is a concealer and does a great job with under eye circles. My Mom had a small procedure done and this was great for covering the scar and redness afterward until it healed.

Re: Seriously, anyone good with makeup?

mix some concealer with foundation-- and dab it under your eye-- that combo gives you the best cover up

Re: Seriously, anyone good with makeup?

Ok, I once smashed my head into the door, well it was actually me drugged up on cold medicine and the door coming at me for no apparent reason (at least thats what I like to think) and I had my MOH's sister's wedding in a few days and had such a shiner, that the first day my eye didn't even open...what I did was bc by the time the wedding came, my eye was open but still purple, i put foundation over the lid as much as possible without caking it on to lighten the purple...then i put some purplish (yes purplish/grey) eyeshadow and lined my eyes..its really funny, It came out looking amazing, ,I got so many compliments, ppl asking me who did my makeup you could not tell I had a shiner underneath it all

Poor Deb

Calvin Klein makes a great foundation - hid a bad black and blue I once got when a car door got slammed in my face.

Feel better!

Re: Seriously, anyone good with makeup?

Lancome makes a pretty good concealer. I used to have dark circles under my eyes and it covered it well.

Re: Seriously, anyone good with makeup?

Thanks guys -- I will head over to 5th and look at some makeup options. It is weird, being tired and yucky all the time. I thought it was allergies but I just feel so out of it. I think it may be time to go to the doctor -- FI has been yelling at me to, but I hate doctors and they always take blood. I hate that.

Re: Seriously, anyone good with makeup?

Deb - you need to get the stuff thats yellow - im not sure what its called, but its a yellow concealer. Yellow offsets purpleish colors so that will cover it the best. Then just dab some neutral concealer over it.
they have it in cvs - its like a dual concealer tube - one half yellow, the other half reg concealer.

Re: Seriously, anyone good with makeup?

OK i'm a little leary of this tip, but hay its from the models. I'm totally addicted to next top model. Something new this year is makeup tips. One thing I found interesting, is for swelling they say to dab a little bit of preperation H underneath each eye.. that will take care of the swelling if it is at all.. then use a concelear mixed with some eye shadow.. it usualy works when i had a bad night out the night before.. Feel better!!!!!

Alex-do you take blood?
I made the appointment with my doctor. When they asked the problem they said I was due for a physical...I really do hate going to the doctor. So now I am going FOR ALMOST A WHOLE HOUR! next week. Who will hold my hand? FI is a total wimpazoid.

Besides, Alex, you are a bride first, a doctor second.
