I agree with you too...as a member of the bridal party it's in very poor taste to not invite him.

I would say invite him, it seems kind of wrong to have him in the BP and not at the bach party. Is there a reason he doesn't want to. . like is your brother a lot younger? is he going away with a small tight knit bunch of friends?

he says he wont feel comfortable if they go to a strip club getting a lap dance with my brother there

All the more reason for him to be there!

EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

of course I agree with all of you I got my point across to him and he agrees he said he will just feel like my brother is watching his every move blah blah blah

Tell FH too bad your brother should be invited. he shouldn't be getting lap dances anyway

I third (or fourth) this. .. I would just tell him that after three or four drinks he won't care that your brother is there. . and your brother will prob be more focused on the girls than on watching your FH with some girl

Re: settle argument with FH and I............

this happened with my DH's bach party as well

they went to vegas and...well... my brother is the total opposite of DH - VERY quiet and reserved... doesnt drink or go out too often - so i KNOW that A-he wouldnt have gone and B-if he did, he would feel SO left out

so i told DH he didnt have to invite him... i felt that it was HIS party and i didnt want to 'make' him invite my brother... if he tried to tell me i 'had' to invite someone to my b-party i'd like like oh helllll no

JMO - good luck

Dont kill me but I am siding with your FH on this one.

I understand what wedding rules dictate but at the end of the day this is his official send off and he should be surrounded by people he feels comfortable with. Now should your bro be invited? Yes.... does he HAVE to be invited? No, not really.

I think people get to hung up on what you 'have' to do when it comes to weddings. It is his day and if he wants to get a lap dance in the midst of a druken stupor without the glaring watchful eye of his FBIL I cant blame the man! it's what guys do.

I have a similar situation with my FSIL tthey are both BP memebers ( deeply religious) and truth be told they of course are invited to my formal 'classy' shower but will not be included in the plans for my 'trashy' shower. This will not include male strippers, but there will be drinking, swearing, sex talk ect and I just want to have fun without having to walk on egg shells or run the risk of insulting/ offending them.

Anyway, I hope you guys can come to some agreement. I just wanted to shed light on what it might be like from your FH's view.

technically he should be invited, but if they just arent close or have issues wit one another and hes just in it bc hes your bro, then no he shouldnt have to be invited

ETA: i read its bc he feels like he watches his every move... that may end up putting a serious damper on your fh's party... how annoying...

i can see where your fh is coming from.... it's his party so it's up to him...

if the tables were turned you wouldn't want him telling you who you have to invite to your parties !!! JMO !!!

He has to invite the bridal party. My FH is inviting both of my brother in laws to is bachlor party. I think it is a must.

Absolutely thats just common courtesy!!! Do they get along?? If not he can just be civil and invite him and let your brother decide if he wants to go. Thats the first I hear of a guy wanting to trim down his invite list...unless your brother is to young or to old

He shouldn't be doing anything your brother can't see.

Yes... the whole bridal party should be invited. So all the guys should be invited. And doesn't the best an typically plan it all and invite people anyway?
The only reason I can think of as to why soeone wouldn't be invited is if they were too young. Is your brother younger than 19?
