Sex and The City fans...

So last night I caught one of the first episodes on HBO2....and it really made me realize how ready this show is to end. No joke!

The difference in the characters is so huge. Back then, Samantha was relatively tame, and they actually let her do some acting besides showing her crotch. Now she's just a characature of a big ho in NY! Carrie was sweet, cute, funny, and not as whiney.....Miranda was a man (she definitely changed for the better)....and Charlotte was basically the same, but less 'snippy'. Honestly...I'm just not that happy with what they've turned them into.

Anyone else think it's really time for it to end? I for one am glad it's going out kind of on top!

So funny..i was watching last night too. I had never seen the first season and oh my god - it was a way better show before.

They were all 'real' characters before and now they are just characteritures of real people and the show is one big ad for manolo blanik!

I was a late comer to watching this program....maybe 3 seasons ago. Now that the original shows are on again, I do see the difference. It seems as if the writing, the acting and the direction of Sex and the City was much better in the beginning.

I agree that they used to be like normal woman hanging out, now they have gone HOLLYWOOD but I still love to watch it

I was thinking the same thing... i've only really seen ALL of the last two seasons. And every now and then i catch an old one like the other night. Samantha wasn't showing cleavage and actually looked a little frumpy and wasn't as snotty, Miranda has changed for the better, its true Charlotte was less 'snippy'. they seemed a lot more 'real' back then.

I loved the first few seasons.

The writing has definatly changed.

i happened to have caught one these shows this weekend and had NO IDEA that samantha tried hitting on BIG at one time! funny how he turned her down! it has pushed the envelope more than enough.. but still have to watch!

A year or two ago when the DVD's came out of the first and second season, I sat there and watched it, and I agree how different it is from the shows now!
It is nice in a way to see them as 'real people' in the beginning, but IMO, I like the new style of the show better, because that is a fantasy life. Who wouldnt want to live the lifestyle of having tons of men, tons of great clothes, tons of money, and being able to go out every night and never having to go out to the same place twice. For that half hour on sunday, I get to escape my 'regular' life, and put myself there. I know this sounds stupid, but thats my take on it. I will be sad to see it end!!

I totally agree...they have been airing the first season from 8-9 on HBO2 starting monday...i actually caught it from the beginning... and I forgot how different it was...


although they did mention manolo blahnik 2x in the first episode...

I was ready for this show to end TWO seasons ago. It's old, stale and not as inventive as it was earlier on...imo.

Misty, you have done lost your mind, all those characters are very real and very believable, just like there are no black in NYC Oh yes they did bring on the black dr, right???
