Sex and the City Spin Off

Did any of you girls think the first movie (although great) was realistic? Like if you were Carrie and your FH was Mr. Big would you have still married him? I'm talking about after all your history, all the crazy stuff he did and him leaving you at the alter (well library - alter just sounds more dramatic), would you have gone to city hall?

That's a really tough question. I would be so unbelievably humiliated

see that's what i thought and that's why i thought the movie was unrealistic. honestly, I doubt I would every let him back into my life let alone give him another opportunity to do it again

I hated the movie for this reason. I couldn't believe she forgave him after that. I don't think I could. It would shatter my trust/confidence in the relationship.

If he just didn't show up and gave me no explanation, than I really don't know what i would do. In the situation in the movie, when they met up in the street and she just hit him with the bouquet and didn't give him a chance to explain is reasons, I don't think i would have gone that route. I would have seriously stood there and asked him why he did this to me and what's going on in his head. In all honesty, it's not like he didn't have somewhat of a decent reason (granted he should have said something beforehand) but I would understand that he didn't want a big show of the whole thing and for it to just be them and their close friends. Probably would have been somewhat more romantic (although effed up to the guests) to just run straight to City hall from there and get married on your own.

Seriously... that whole scene I wanted to yell at her to STFU and listen to him!!! Then they could've hugged it out and gotten married.

But I don't think I would've even made it THAT far with a guy like Big. He already had one too many strikes against him.

Omg I totally disagree. He had so many opportunities to tell her how he felt about this turning into such a big affair. I think he make it even larger by not showing up. I would have been hitting him with my fist instead of the flowers. I always hated big though

True in the siuation of Big and Carrie, but I was thinking more along the lines of if this were FH and I and our situation is not nearly as dramatic and full of crappy stuff in the past like theirs is - thank god! LOL

EDIT: and I just re-read the question that you originally asked where it was to put yourself in Carrie's actual shoes and relationship - so in that case, I would use my fist as well LOL

Re: Sex and the City Spin Off

I always loved their relationship reminds me of FH and Me, but he never left me at the alter but did dump me...lol.

However, FH and I met in 2001 and briefly dated for a few months. we have an age difference and at 18-19 my mom was really strict with me and he hated all the sneaking around. So he broke up with me, met another girl and even got married. Fast forward to late 2005 (we never saw each other throughout those year, as we both went separate ways) we bumped into each other at a Mets game, he got a divorce (not cuz of me.. they were having issues) i broke up with my BF and here we are in 2010 getting married next year.
