sextion poll

Original post by peaches42587

who's planning on having sex on their wedding night? and i added a choice for those who are already married. i was reading online a lot of couples just go to sleep because theyre too exhausted and it takes an hour to get those bobby pins out and yadda yadda. i personally will force myself to do it no matter how tired i am lol

Ladies.... THIS IS what I meant....

According to Webster's, Marriage is defined as follows: 'an act of marrying or the rite by which the married status is effected; especially the wedding ceremony and attendant festivities or formalities; an intimate or close union.' It seems to me that consummating the marriage on the wedding night solidifies the union and sets the precedent for a more loving, intimate relationship and marriage. I don't know about all of you, but I know my fiancé would feel neglected if I didn't show him how much I loved him on our special night. Of course, if for any reason, I couldn't love him on our wedding night, I'd be sure to make it special as soon as I could thereafter! I intend to only be married once in my life and I want to do everything in my power to make it right and to make it work! In my opinion, love is the key. I pray I'm NEVER too tired to express my love!

Love can be expressed in MANY MANY ways other than having sex. I plan on showing my fh how much I love him all day long on our wedding day as I do every day.

I agree! i dont express my love through sex, i do however, express how much im enjoying it.....woooooo.....

OMG...you girls are out of control! And don't correct my grammar! THAT was a typo...You can make all the little laughing smilees you want... This is the exact reason I stay away from being friends with females and get along with males sooooooo much better. Abnoxious and childish! I expressed MY opinion... this IS an open discussion forum...

Having no female friends and buddying up with a bunch of males is going to be a recipe for disaster once you get married...

Re: sextion poll

Are you guys saying that you would never have sex just for him, or you just wouldn't push it on the wedding night? Because I have been with my husband for 9 years (living together for 6) and I don't know if its realistic to say you'll never give in. It doesn't mean I don't enjoy it, or never want to have sex on my own, but he wants to have sex all the time, and I would be lying if I said sometimes I don't just give in because its easier.

Just for the record, we did have sex after our civil ceremony, but I don't think that counts because it wasn't a big wedding with pictures all day, etc. For the big wedding, I'm going to try, but I think I'm going to have an evening wedding so I may be one of those who just pass out.

One thing nobody has mentioned yet is how amazing it is the first time you have sex as husband and wife, because no matter how much you have done it before, the first time as a married couple feels totally new!

No--i don't think anyone was saying it like that...there have been a time or two when i don't fell 100% like doing it, and i've done it with my DH -- and same thing for him.

I just think the ladies on the thread who made it a big deal 'its your WEDDING NIGHT! you HAVE to do it -- just suck it up' and make it sound like you 'owe it' to your now DH, are missing the big picture.

They are making it sound like you need to do your wifely duty that nite, no matter what, and I think that's bull. The first time you make love as husband and wife should be somethign you BOTH want to do and are 100% into, not to do it because you don't want to 'disappoint' him or something.

When I didn't do it that nite, DH and I weren't really disappointed, because we were both so damn exhausted that if we did it just to do it, it wouldn't be with our whole hearts. Quite frankly I didn't want to shag my him as my hubby for the first time, juts because its 'tradition'!

I agree, it honestly didnt matter to me if we did or we didnt. I was lucky if DH even rememberd his name by the end of the night. He literally stumbled in the house and went to sleep right on the floor, didnt even make it to the bedroom lol.....I dont see the big deal in it, especially if youve lived with DH before.

I wish I could say I enjoyed this thread as much as some but I found it very disappointing in the end. I did learn a few things.....I will keep my opinions to myself whenever possible. I will use spellcheck whenever possible. I will not be insulted by the opinions of anonymous others unless they intend to insult me....and then probably not anyway. I will not be rude under any circumstances. I will do whatever it takes not to feel like a sad panda.

No, I don't think it has anything to do with keeping your opinions to yourself. It has something to do with making sweeping generalizations about other people you don't know and implying that you're better than they are. That's when people get upset.

But like - if you say you're having a videographer, and I say, 'You know what? FH and I didn't think it was necessary, but that's just us,' that's a reasonable exchange of ideas and opinions. If I say 'OMG, I WOULD NEVER WASTE THE MONEY ON SOME DUDE FOLLOWING ME AROUND WITH A CAMERA, WHAT A LOSER AND EVERYONE WHO DOES THAT IS WASTING THEIR MONEY!!!!!!1' that's different. There's a difference between sharing opinions and being an azzhole.

ugh.. This thread is still going on?

I kinda do believe not having sex the night of is a recipe for disaster.

Will I do it just to shut FH up the night of? If i'm dead tired. umm.. yeah. lol I don't wanna hear him complain about it for the rest of my life cuz i kinda know he's right lol. I look at it like this, does my FH really care about all the wedding festivites.. hell no lol. Does he care what people are eating, the uplighting, and the placecards. No way. He cares about 3 things, getting married, being with fam and friends, and getting some afterwards. lol

It's like the night we got engaged. FH was so sweet and got a hotel room in the city. Did i want to have sex, nope. There was so much going on in my mind that i just wasn't there. But did i, yeah. I had to lol. FH went to all that trouble and that would be f'd up if i said, 'wow were engaged baby. I love my ring, I love you, I love the effort you went into tonight. goodnight! lol' He might have taken the ring back if i did that lol j/k (but not really lol)

Are you serious? How great is it REALLY going to be if 1 or both of you are dead tired? You'll welcome the sleep after your wonderful but very tiring day and rest up for some great morning action when you both really want it. You also have your whole honeymoon...

I can't believe that some girls here really think their husbands will have 'earned' it for putting up with wedding planning and for doing thoughtful things. Sex is not supposed to be a reward.

Ummm I don't know about you -- but I definitely look at my DH's chart to see if he's earned enough gold stars to receive the ULTIMATE award each week.
