I ran into pushy photographers and those vendors that wanted to charge me to go to LI or Bklyn (I mean charge me an outrageous fee).

When we told one place-- listen, it is just not us and we don't want to make you go through the whole sales pitch. Thank you for your time! This place and their bridal consultant then proceeded to get nasty with us. We just didn't want to make them waste their or our time-- we knew right away it was not us. But they were so rude, and I thought we were being nice.
Anyway, little did they know that I just became the social chairperson for our union and I am supposed to organize the retirement dinner for our school and guess where it USED to be held!---lol

When the guy at Chateau Briand had the nerve to ask me how big my ring was... can you say BAD TASTE???? Then asked how much it WAS!!!!!!!!!
Then there was the guy at Fox Hollow who, when he saw my Polish last name told me 4 times that we could have Kielbasa at the cocktail hour. Ummmm, sausage is not a selling point to me, I don't know about you... and after we hadn't even SEEN the room asked us what was stopping us from putting a deposit down. What an a$$.

One hall after seeing the room the banquet manager said 'ok so are we ready to go downstairs and sign the contract and leave a deposit'
then when we said we're going to get back to you, she called us 3 days later and gave us the sales pitch of how days fill up quickly and we need to make a decision. I told her well if its meant to be then it is and if its not have a good day.

Being tracked down by a vendor after he got a tip that I said something about the particular place on this board, I had to change my name etc on here , and first they apopogized and then they denied it!!!!

I can't stand it when vendors bad mouth each other or just have toilet mouths in general. That turns me off right away.

I guess they are trying to figure out what you can afford.
Another question is where you live?

Re: Share, while you were vendor 'shopping'.....
I had a photographer who wanted to charge me thousands extra to continue photographing my wedding after the church. If I didn't pay the $$, he'd leave after the ceremony and send his assistant to the reception. Didn't book HIM obviously!

LOL Kris! Sooo rude! I loved my 1st and 2nd choice DJs for the reason that they only complimented each other and some of my other vendors. The 2nd Photog, I went to however, demanded to know who else and had the nerve to tell me to come back and see him last, which I of course did not do (Don't tell ME how to schedule my time thank you very much!) Then he proceeded to keep calling me...can you say 'turn off'!!!!

Re: Share, while you were vendor 'shopping'.....
I had a limo vendor that was recommended by the hall that talked bad about the other limo vendor recommended. This totally turned me off and is the only reason we didn't go with this particular vendor. Sometimes they don't know when to stop talking.

Laura - I think I know EXACTLY the photographer you are talking about. Go see him last, leave a refundable deposit, HIGH pressure 'please come see me calls' over and over and over... I dont think so!!! Im surprised he gets business!
After all that BS I went with Imagine Too So easygoing and NO pressure.

Re: Share, while you were vendor 'shopping'.....
My biggest vendor turn off was when a FLORIST out right LIED to me !!!! He told me Peach Asiatic Lilies did NOT exist !!!!!
Needless to say, I went with Flower Den, my first choice anyway, who will be happy to go to the trouble of getting my lilies for me
