Share Your Idiot Boss Stories!

Please make me feel better about my situation at work by sharing your horror stories about your idiot boss (if you have an idiot boss) .. I know I am definitely not alone in this.

I love what I do .. and do not want to quit because of some loser .. but .. I'm really feeling like the ways things have just kept getting worse & worse over the past few months .. despite having voiced complaints with a higher-up regarding serious issues .. I feel like I just don't know how much more I can take.

My immediate supervisor is a lazy, sloppy, careless, selfish a$$ who basically does NOTHING .. but yet has so many people twisted into thinking this idiot does pretty much everything.

Anyone who has a great boss .. please refrain from bragging about it here .. that's only going to make me feel worse

I have two bosses one is a total biatch she tell never compliments you when you do a good job and when you have to tell her something all she say's to you is go away i dont want to be bothered! she also puts her feet on the desk when she has nothing to do and she doesn't think we see that!. everyone dislikes her and she was transfered from a nother building to ours and the people there didn't like her either. and whats worse she shares the same name as me!

I had a boss that was sleeping with his boss, and then videotaped them doing the deed at work. He used to come in to work hung over, reeking of alcohol, unshaven and not wearing any socks. He threw a chair across the room once during a meeting, narrowly missing one of us. Then, he got arrested for beating the crap out of his wife and attempting to strangle her with a belt.

How's that?

During my second year teaching, I had a new assistant principal. She was an incredibly mean woman. We teachers had been told that there would be an assembly program and that we should line up the kids during afternoon homeroom. The man who taught next door popped his head in and told me to line up my kids, so I did. The AP walked by and saw the kids lining up in the room, and came in and screamed at my- who told me to line them up, I'd better make them sit down, etc. I was too stunned to say anything. My kids were FURIOUS at her and wanted to know why I didn't say anything. I told them that I needed to be very careful as a new teacher, even though I didn't have to worry since no one is banging down doors to teach in the South Bronx.

I had another who was just nuts. A couple weeks after 9/11 she called an emegency lunch meeting of teachers. She made it sound extremely urgent and we only have lunch meetings in serious situations. I was terribly nervous- I thought there had been another attack or something along those lines. It turned out that she called the meeting because she'd noticed that a lot of the kids were....chewing gum.

I invited my boss to my wedding and she didn't get me a gift!!!!!

Aside from that, I was sharing my wedding album with everyone at the office and she wasn't at her desk when everyone was looking at my album. I placed my album near her desk and she walks into my office, fast-paced, and says......'I don't have time to go down memory lane'

I could not believe my ears!!!!! It took only a couple of minutes! I was so pissed. Everyone at the office said she was jealous of me and I always sensed it!! And to top it off, the next morning we were travelling together to Philadelphia. Do ya think I wanted to go at that Point??????

Well, about a month later, she was layed off and 3 months later I was Layed off! I am so happy not to be working with her anymore!!!!

My boss was the MEGA *****! I actually quit my industry (Fashion) bc of her (well, mostly).

She was 42 and thought she was 22. She used to dress really weird and at first, she was nice. Then she became really demanding and bossy and she thought I was her slave. She made me take her personal belongings for her, meanwhile, she coulda carried them!!
We moved into a temp. building and everyday we would have to check for packages, so every day she made me go check in the rain, snow, sleet, etc. Then one day she made me go back to the other building with 4 bags in each, no joke and she was like 'oh you can handle them'. I came back with my hands bleeding. She just wanted me to do every single little thing-I knew she didn't have any responsibilty at all. She was just a nightmare...but the worst was this: She told me that she would meet me in the other building one morning but i HAD TO FIND this package, she bitched about it for like an hour the previous day. So I couldnt find it, then I fianlly figured it out where it was, it was actually in a building 2 blocks away. So I go and get it and when I come back, eveyrone was like, oh Colleen is looking for you, she asid you musta gotten stomach sick n had to use the bathroom.
I was mortified. So I call her, and she was lke OMG ARE YOU OK??? WHERE WERE YOU? I'm like, I FOUND THE PACKAGE!!!!! I thought she would be happy..well...NOT AT ALL.
She started yelling at me and she was like 'I told you I was going to come back to the other building so whyd u leave? Now I had to do all the work by myself'. there was no work to do, all she wanted me to do was look at her while she rearranged the showroom. the best part was though , that she was like i was there for over an hour. thats when i got really mad. bc i was gone for the most, 20 min. I hate liars!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't take it anymore, so I quit. And the girl who took my spot quit not even a month b4.
I hate super bitches!!!!!!!! LOL

My boss has her days. When 1st started working for the company, we really didnt hit it off. Now, ive been there so long, we have days where we act like best friends and days where I have to at things she does. I feel bad when other employees come up to me and ask 'how do you deal w/it?' I feel like I am in the middle. I tell them one thing..I would never want my bosses job. She has waaay to many responsibilities and I do respect her!

Ok, looking back I should have done something about this...but I was young and I didn't know any better.

At one of my first jobs when i interviewed, they asked me to wear a skirt to work...and I thought it's for business reasons, but it was really for personal preference of the bosses, if you catch my drift. I had guys constantly flirting with me, bosses calling m 'Sweetheart' all the time. Constant jokes made, and if a make customer came in, the man I worked with would find an excuse to leave the room, and have the guy 'talk to my assistant'...I guess to flirt with the guys, etc. I came in once and complained to my immediate boss (we used to talk a lot while we worked) about the guys on the corner near the store next door who would whistle at me and he said 'that's because you have big boobs!'

and then I would come in after a few days and find really gross porn on my computer (I sahred it with the same immediate boss..I was his assistant basically, but I did most of the computer work). I finally quit because I got tiredof it, and for some reason they kept haing excuses for why they hadn't paid me in weeks, so I jfigued if I wasn't going to get paid, I wasn't going to show up..and that was the end of it.

I had a boss once that ordered online all day, and basically did nothing, and she was the head of marketing. She came to a big meeting with her laptop and blank Word doc telling us we were going to create the 'marketing plan' - she took all of our ideas, then sent out the plan to the entire group as if she did it. She made me so sick I'd cry at my desk. I was about to quit when out of the blue they offered me a job in our corporate office. I was so happy to get away from her!

WOW! my ex-boss sounds EXACTLY like yours! I did quit my job because of him! After countless efforts to resolve the situation with his higherups etc.... He did absolutely NOTHING, and was an A-Hole to everyone in his department! One time he even put a pair of scissors on my chair poinint upwards. I could have been seriously hurt! Well....I just couldn't take it anymore. Nobodody was doing anything about getting rid of him. He actually got sympathy from the company because he was in the process of builing a new home which he could never afford! So....I got my resume & portfolio together, and found a job in 2 weeks! I AM SO HAPPY now!!!! And he got fired 3 months after I left!

Oh my gosh I can't believe he actually put scissors on your chair. How unprofessional of him. My boss is a jerk too. There is this one girl here that resigned and he is mad that she is leaving so he is making her life miserable. He doesn't even look at her face when he talks to her. Every morning he is at her desk demanding things get done right away...this poor girl even offered to train the new person that takes over her position after she is gone and my boss is like 'no thanks we won't need you anymore'...This morning he almost made her cry. We told her to just leave, that she shouldn't have to stay here for 2 more weeks taking this abuse from him. She owes him nothing.

I can't believe that there are so many A-Holes bosses out there! Why do they always have to have the high paying jobs too? It's not fair! Why do people want these people to work for them, and manage other employee's?????????

It just baffles me!

Hey, I work with a Tara M!! She's not a boss though and she is VERY nice!

Thanks to everyone for sharing!

These idiots probably get to where they are (generally) because they are good con-artists .. who talk people into believing anything they want them to believe.

And by the way .. I can NOT tolerate liars, either .. and my idiot supervisor is a HUGE liar!! Though many times over the years this idiot proclaims to be the most honest person around .. and idiot claims to not understand why people would lie!!!!!


Other possibilities for idiots getting top jobs:

- They get where they are because of who they know.

- They've always been a loser .. only they've by some miracle worked themselves up into a 'power' position, and can now make everyone else's life miserable.

- And to a much lesser extent .. I do believe some good workers just go sour .. usually because of a poor working environment.

My boss never gave me a wedding gift NOT even a card from the people I work with!!


How rude is that??
