Share Your Most Magical Disney Moment

Original post by marymoon

Since I was supposed to be going to WDW in 2 weeks, I'm going through withdrawals..at the SOONEST I'm going in january 06..at the LATEST jan 07..both are so far off. I'm an addict. i NEED A FIX..But anyway, here are some of mine

My whole life I had dreamed fo going to WDW. When we were 20, FH save dup all of his money to take me. When we were on the shuttle from the airport and I saw the castle spires in the distance I let out a LOUD gasp and started to cry. Everyone on the bus thought something bad happenned. And I'll never forget how I felt later that day when we drove under the 'Magic KIngdom' sign. Then as soon as we walked through the gates to Main Street, DOPEY was there, and he TWIRLED my pigtails!

ON another trip, I finally got to meet Snow White, and I was wearing ym favorite shirt, which says 'Snow White's Cleaning Service..sorry,w e don't do mirrors'..and hshe LOVED it..and she brought Cinderella over to show her, and Cindy didn't get it and so when she walked awya, Snow White said 'Blondes!'

Also, on my favorite ride, Haunted Mansion, in the stretch room/ elevator there's a whole speil with the ghost host and at the end the lights go out , and there's a scream and a flash of lightning. That really freaks people ut. It also freaks people out that I know the whole speil and I mouth it while staring at people...hahaha..I have scared a LOT of people ..anway one night it was rainy and thundery and it was an e-ride night, so the park was empty and wet and thundery...a GREAT night for HM and everyone was all freaked out, and when the lights went out and came back on, the Butler was lying on the floor as if dead. it was GREAT

Well I went there when I was a baby and threw up so that wasn't it. The next time I went there I was 19 and had to pay for the trip myself because my parents never took me. I'm over it. Though I think the magic came when Mohammed from Morocco at Epcot gave me some free couscous.

I proposed to my wife in the Rose Garden in front of the Castle our last evening in Disney in Jan '99. The romance was short lived - after she yes, it started to POUR!

I don't think it was a magical moment, but the funniest moment was a few years back my DH got his hair cut at the barber at WDW. While he was finishing it up he was putting in some sort of gel and we thought nothing of it. The cut came out great...best he had in years....

Later that day we go to the Tiki lounge and as soon as it gets dark everyone starts pointing at us and laughing. I turn to my DH and the barber must have put clear dayglow stuff on his face and he had a HUGE mickey mouse head on his forehead. I swear I was laughing for hours!!!

My most magical disney moment was when DH and I got engaged at the rose garden in front of Cinderellas castle. He arranged the whole thing with Disney and it was incredible! I cant believe how long ago it was already! December 22, 2001...then we were there all week for Christmas...totally amazing!

When I met Mickey for the first time (um, last August ), I was totally star-struck. We were in his house in Toontown (?) and they let people in one group at a time. I saw Mickey standing there and I couldn't move. The photographer took my hand and said 'it's okay, you can do it.' I totally cried after I had the picture taken with him.

I loved Disney so much! I am TRYING to talk FH into a quick trip this summer, but he isn't into the idea.

The first time I was there was my HM. As soon as we saw the magic kingdom, I was in awe. We even had breakfast with the characters.

Re: Share Your Most Magical Disney Moment

I have a couple.

1. When I was 7, my first trip there. We were at EPCOT, at this show where the characters come out and dance around. Well, Minnie didn't come to my side, and I was devastated. So the cast members saw me crying, and gave me special audience with Ms. Mouse for the next show.

2. Singing at EPCOT Center and marching with my Color Guard in the Spectro Magic Parade, 97.

3. Receiving my Magic Kingdom Cast Members pin from Minnie Mouse, 99.

4. This wasn't so magic for *me*, but I'll never forget this. One night, I was working in Heritage House (gift shop for House of Presidents) and it was DEAD, except for this one couple and their daughter, Emily. I guess she was about 3 or 4 years old. The Main Street parade was about to go by, so I asked if I could take Emily outside to see it. Her parents said yes, so out we went. As the floats went by, I was able to stand behind Emily so she wouldn't see, wave at characters to get their attention (which was easy in my costume), and point at Emily. So I had the Wicked Stepsisters blowing her kisses, as well as the Fairy Godmother and Cinderella. The crowning glory to that, though, was when Prince Charming Offered Her The Glass Slipper!!!!!!! We also got Peter Pan to wave at her, as well as a few other characters but it's been awhile so I don't really remember it all. She was totally incredulous over how many stars were waving AT HER. I'll never forget that little girl.
