Share your something old, something new....

Original post by AudioLoveStory

Just figured out all of mine!

Something old: My grandmother's diamond is the center stone in my E-ring. My grandparents had the best relationship and that way I feel like they will be looking down on my wedding day.

Something new: Everything! My dress, shoes, etc.

Something borrowed: FMIL diamond bracelet. She had lost this at the beach in Mexico and FFIL was able to find it in the water after searching for an entire day!

Something blue: My garter has a tiny blue ribbon sewn on the inside of it.

I was just thinking about this, this morning. Can one thing fill two categories? I have a brooch that was my Moms- it is heart shaped with rhinestones and small pale blue crystals. I was going to wear that (somewhere on me, don't know where yet ) but can that be something blue and something old? Or would that be a bad idea?

Thanks!

Absolutely you can do this!

Something Old: My nana's wedding band which is now mine

Something New: My dress

Something Borrowed: My nana's pearl earrings. I couldn't find anything that matched my necklace and bracelet, and she showed them to me and they're prefect.

Something Blue: My bouquet charm has a blue ribbon on it

Something old - don't know yet...I really want to incorporate a ring that my grandmother gave to my mom on her wedding day but it's yellow gold and coral so it doesn't match anything I have. Maybe sew it into my dress?

borrowed: working on that as well but I'm meeting with my mom's friend's daughter next week who does jewelry design and may have something that I can borrow.

new: my dress, hoes, practically everythign

blue: I have the 'i do' stickers and may get a blue garter as well

and I got a six pence to glue on my sole

I love your something 'NEW' - you go girl

Re: Share your something old, something new....

here goes...my mom made me a 'cake' and attached this poem..
in each layer were these gifts...i cried like a baby, of course

Please enjoy this five tiered cake,
From your bridesmaids and mother, make no mistake.
The saying is traditional, here’s how it goes:

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue,
(We’ve added some things to wear when your day is through)

Something old’ is the photo
Of you Julie and Nicole.
A bond of three childhood BFF's together
It is clear this friendship will last forever.

Something new are your sweats, which are personalized too!
To wear on your honeymoon, we made it made just for you.

Something borrowed is Grandma Ehlich's baby ring.
After the wedding kindly return it to Christine.
(This ring has more sentimental value than anything you have ever seen)

Something blue is your Mac perfume.
James will notice before you enter the room.

Something to wear when your day is through is: lingerie
For you and James to enjoy, in your own may.

Wishing you a lifetime of happiness, good health and fortune.!

All Our love,
Mom, Christine, Jennifer, Angela, Nicole, Julie, Jessica R,
Jessica G, Renee, Seda, Kim, Brianna, Lexie, Hannah, and Addison
