So about 2 weeks ago while I was cleaning the bathroom I got FH and I new toothbrushes. Unless I'm cleaning the bathroom I don't take notice to his toothbrush, I have no reason too. Last week when I was cleaning I didn't notice anything weird. This morning I got ready for work faster than usual and decided to clean the bathroom- I cleaned the toothbrush holder and noticed that his toothbrush didn't seem to be touched while mine looked how a toothbrush should after it's used everyday. (now keep in mind that his toothbrush is blue and mine is purple)
So I hold both toothbrushes up and asked him which one he's been using. He looked at me funny and pointed to the PURPLE one! Needless to say I was so grossed out. He started laughing and said 'babe what's the big deal? so we share a toothbrush who cares!' Umm I care!!! That's nasty!
Long story short, he got so insulted that I was grossed out! I share everything in the world with him but my toothbrush is one of the things that should only be mine!
I know a lot of people don't think it's gross but I'm just curious how everyone else feels about this! lol

I have done it before in times of desperation (I am notorious for dropping mine on the bathroom floor!!) but only with FH but I definitely try to avoid it lol

Sharing a toothbrush
Me, FH, and a newly married couple who are friends of ours had this EXACT conversation last night. She had dropped her toothbrush on the floor, deemed it as dirty, and used his for the next 2 days until she can get a new one...here is the funny part, when her husband noticed he told her that he had dropped his toothbrush on a number of occasions! lol She figured she was safe from the 'dirty' floor by using his...except his was 'dirty' too hahaha
So back to the original question...I don't think its the best idea to share a toothbrush, just hygiene wise..but I am not disgusted about it...I accidentally grab his sometimes just not looking and realized half way through brushing its not mine! eek. I don't make a habit of it, but it doesn't really bother me considering all the sharing we do.

I've definitely done it before, if I as staying at his house and hadnt packed mine. It really doesn't gross me out, bc honestly, both of our mouths have been other places on each others bodies that I'd deem much 'dirtier' than each others mouths. Lol (You know you're all thinking it!)
I don't think it's that big of a deal, but if it grosses you out, try labeling yours in some way.

I've definitely done it before when I forget mine during an overnight trip but I am not a fan of it! He doesn't see a problem with it though!
NEVER. FH is even more grossed out about it than I am, but the thought really skeeves me out too.

Eww! If I dropped my toothbrush on the floor, I'd run out to a 24 hour walgreens and get a new one. :/

This totally reminds me of the How I Met Your Mother episode where Marshall, Lily and Ted find out they were all sharing the same toothbrush! I have to admit I'm guilty of sharing a toothbrush with FH in desperate times!!

I'm pretty sure I've done it once or twice before we lived together out of desperation.. I'm not an easily skeeved person but there is something weird about it.. But since I don't KNOW what seems weird about it to me I just shrug my shoulders and move on lol
