Sharing RH with another bride

Sharing RH with another bride

Just found out there is going to be another bride on the day of.

So scared service will suffer. And also we can only take pictures on half the outdoor area.

Has anyone been to a wedding with 2 going on?

What did you think?

I've been to a wedding where there were 2 taking place at a time. I can't remember where, I want to say Swan Club, but I don't think that's right. It was no biggie, but then again I wasn't the bride. As a guest, I hardly noticed and I never saw the other bride, just some guests that I knew didn't belong with our party outside smoking.

I'd be most upset about having to split the outdoor space for photos. Boo to that.

I actually just found out there's another wedding at my church right before mine. Oh well, no point in getting upset about it. It's not going to change anything! I actually think it would be kinda cool to run into another bride that day!

The outdoor thing was one major reason I ddn't book WCC. They advertise 19 acres but then showed me a postage stamp sized patio that would be my area, and couldn't even promise that I'd get to take pictures in the lobby!

I wouldn't worry too much about service. these places are used to doing more than one wedding at a time.

ETA: I think they stagger the start times to minimize guest confusion. I'd ask about that too

I went to a wedding where there were two weddings and I wasn't really thrilled. It was confusing because people from both parties were kind of mixing in, going in and out of the hall, couldn't figure out who was with who -kind of chaotic, but he food was amazing and the service was good. I think a one wedding at a time location is soooo important, but obviously you can't change it now. Maybe it won't be a huge deal though. No offense, just being honest. Good luck!

I've been to weddings before with more than 1 at a time.

Most of the time it's not noticeable unless you go out of the room. than it's mixed in. Are you sharing a bathroom with the other wedding?

it was weird being in the br with groups from the other wedding and we saw the other bride in the hall on numerous occasions.

I was at 1 wedding where you could HEAR the other wedding going on, music and everything. But it's not your hall so I can't comment on that.

Don't stress too much-i believe they stagger start times. So you won't be arriving & leaving with the other wedding

I agree, I think you'll be fine. I have been to a few weddings where there were more than one going on at the same time---Tavern on the Green and Bridgewaters but it was totally fine!

Are you getting married at RH? The only complaint I have was that the one at Bridgewaters, we heard music from another wedding while at the ceremony...the bride didn't notice but us in the back of the room did...

Honestly, I never really cared much about there being another wedding at my RH, since I have been to weddings where there were more than one going on at a time and service, etc was always great. The people who work there are used to this, and I am sure the RH makes sure there are enough people on staff to make sure everything goes smoothly. In fact, there are people whose job it is to make sure the brides NEVER see each other!!! they go out of their way to make you feel special and not overlooked. I wouldn't worry about it too much, you will have much more on your mind that day than another bride in another room!

I know WCC coordinates start times so you don't overlap. Or ceremony start is 7:30 which is kinda late for my liking, but at least we won't be distracted by the other party. The great thing about WCC is that there is a whole separate floor between your party and the other one, to avoid confusion and crashing. When we booked with them, there were two weddings running while we were there and it appeared to be seemless, which is why we booked. Although I agree I would be bummed if I couldn't take pictures on the other side with the bridge, I still think its a great space to work with. Most venues have a system in place to work multiple parties... you should be totally fine.

It shouldn't be bad, like the other brides said, they stagger the start times of the two weddings so that other is not starting at the same time as yours. Chances are you will not even know that another wedding is going on.

The only good thing about the hall is that my reception area is upstairs and the other hall is downstairs, with another floor in between.

My main concern is the cocktail hour as that is the middle floor. I asked them what would happen with that and they said the times are staggered. I am still nervous because how could they do two cocktail hours in one room even if the times are staggered? If mine is after, I don't want the room messy or have left over food or something!

I'm so nervous but don't want to complain to RH as they donated the RH for free to us (we won partyfm's Get Hitched On The House). How can I be greedy but this is my wedding!!!!!

AHhhhhhhhh so stresseddddddd

I wouldn't worry to much. I felt the same way when I found out another bride booked for the same date at my RH (wondered if she was on LIW too). I just called the BM to make sure we'd have different bridal suites, bathrooms, etc, and so it's all good. I'm sure none of your stuff will collide with each other.

I was told that at WCC the bottom floor can ONLY have an outdoor CH, and do not get access to the CH the top floor uses.

I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't true though because the BM we met with told us several things that were plainly untrue to try to make the sale.

Actually this is true. The Garden Suite has their CH outside no matter what the weather is. The area is tented and heated for inclement weather and is actually a very nice size space. Your CH will be on the main entrance floor which has windows overlooking your outside bridge area. You'll be fine. Most of the weddings for the Garden Suite start around 7-8pm depending on the day and if there is anyone else booked for that room earlier. Your CH will be finishing around the time the other ceremony starts.

That is AWESOME! Congrats!

I actually really liked WCC and perhaps with another BM, I might have booked it on the spot. I think you will really love it, and as you can see from previous posts, I don't think you share a CH room at all.

I wouldn't worry too much. I'm using CLM and I'm sharing my RH with another bride and I had to get tons of reassurance that the other wedding wouldn't intersect with mine.

Like my ceremony is at 6:30 and I was really concerned that while I'm exchanging my vows that her DJ would unintentionally be providing background music (we could hear their music) but i was told that they would have it so at that time there wouldnt be any music and that during my cocktail hour, the entire back is blocked off until we're finished. Once the CH is done then they say its a free for all back there.

Im sure if you ask they'll explain what they do to reassure that your day remains special. :)

Re: Sharing RH with another bride

I got married at CLM where they do 2 at once. They staggered them though - I got married at 5:30 and I was done with my ceremony and CH and was partying at my reception by the time the next wedding even started. We didn't even notice the other guests. HOWEVER, we did have the first wedding of the evening and we were upstairs where there was no reason for the downstairs guests to go. I imagine that it might have been a different experience for the other bride.

My sister got married at East Wind where they can have up to 3 or 4 weddings at a time but they're all in separate locations on the property so again, we never even noticed the other weddings.

Then I would take the earlier time so you have the first CH. We had NO trouble whatsoever at our place with the timing.

Re: Sharing RH with another bride

My friend got married at Beckwith Pointe in New Rochelle and there was another wedding going on in the other room. Honestly, apart from the times you had to go out in the lobby or outside the main entrance to have a cigarette or something, we had no idea there was even another wedding going on. We couldn't hear their music, no one came into our party, and the service was great!
