I haven't checked out the quality yet, but I'm planning on going into NYC to get them from a street vendor - they sell them for about $5 each. Hoping that I can bargain and get them even a little cheaper if I'm buying a bunch of them

Re: shawls
I want to do the same thing. I found this website awhile ago which sells any color pashmina scarves in any color or pattern. The silky solid scarves are $3.75 a piece and come in so many colors! I may order a few separate scarves before my big order to check the quality and you can never have too many scarves!!
we're going to actually give them out to the ladies at my shower with a note tag that says to keep warm for our outdoor cocktail hour in october
Wow - great site. Thanks!

Re: shawls
I wanted to do a shawl basket, but I can't find anything less that $4 each so I'm going to skip it..

I was planning on going the NYC route to negotiate but they also have them at tri-county near barrons which you can also negotiate!

this is what i was orginally going to do and have the basket at cocktail hour. my mom convinced me its better to give them as favors at the shower and tell people why im giving out pashminas in august (to wear at our outdoor october CH) since people might not see them at cocktail hour and they will be alot left behind. the site i posted earlier had a great deal for an assorted pack of pastel colored pashminas i got them for 2 bucks a piece.
