My fsil (16 this week) just got her CHIN pierced. If that was me at the age, my mother would have held a needle over a flame and said, 'i'll do it.' It would have freaked me out and I would not have done it. I think 16 is a little young to be getting piercings with the exception of ears.
Just hope it does not clash with pink bridesmaid dress.

16???? You usually cant get that unless a parent signs for it? This is why I got my piercings and Tattoos in places that can not be seen MY PARENTS WOULD KILL ME. My parents saw my tattoo and my dad cried! My father told me when I got my ears pierced 'If god wanted you to have more holes in your head he would have put them there himslef'

I just realized my friend's son (who is very fresh) has an earring and he is eight or nine years old. She said that she is trying to talk him into getting another piercing in the top of his ear and also getting one for her six year old. What? Her older kid is so bad. She lets him do whatever he wants (hits people and talks back to everyone). I don't know what is wrong with her. I don't talk to her much anymore because I can't stand the way she raises her kids and I refuse to be around them. I'm wondering what's wrong with her too.
Sue I now know why your friends kids are fresh. She wants to be their friend not their mother

That is the one piercing that freaks me out! It must be so irritating to your lower gums!
It's actually, not irritating. It's flat on the back, not like a regular barbell, so it doesnt get in the way.
I used to think they were sexy... reminds me of my college days. I went to a pretty 'alternative' school, so almost everyone had something a little different about them. I saw more things pierced in college than you could ever imagine!

My SIL (she'll be 21 next week) got her niple peirced and when she told DH, he went right for it and ripped it off through her sweater!!!
We just found out that she has one on her taco.. and he says, well that's her frikkin problem now..lol

When I was in HS, I wore a hooded sweatshirt around the house so dad couldn't see the extra holes in my ear (or maybe it was where I shaved my head, ok, not sure). But I got a tattoo when I was in my mid 20's (like ten years ago!!) and I'm still not sure if he knows I have it (it's only visible in a bikini).
It amazes me what 'kids today' do/wear/etc!! Now get me my shawl and cane!!!

Someone I used to know had 3 in her taco, and both nipples. She eventually took them all out because she lost SENSATION... and we can't have that happening, now, can we?!
ETA: This same girl also had 4 tongue rings... in a diamond shape....

I did get my Belly Ring at 19, and my first Tattoo at 24. I hide them well though...One is on my lower back and the other is on my hip bone. I was the first of my friends to go for the belly ring they though it was disgusting, yet a year later, they all started doing it...I was beacsue I liked it and I wasn't following the crowd.

I've had so many friends with all sorts of piercings but most of them who have had a Labrette have a small scar on the outside since removing it. Some have also had damage to the enamel of their teeth from the flat back.

My daughter had not only her ears pierced about 10 times each, but also her eyebrow twice, her tongue, her navel, her labbrette and her ...ummmm...hmmmm..boobs! I think she may have had more but was afraid to tell me. She also has nine tattoos!!
However...over the last couple of years she realized that she looked ridiculous and now has now removed all her piercings except for her tongue ring(which I hate and the dentist has warned her she must take out) and 3 holes in her ears. The tattoos she loves so those aren't going anywhere. She if fortunate that she really has no scars from any of her piercings.
