Sheath Dresses

What designers make simple sheath dresses, either lace overlay or silk? I really want a straight, simple dress with no poof.

My SIL went with a simple lacy dress. no poof really. I believe the designer was Forever Yours. I know she got it at RK Bridal in Manhattan. HTH.

Thanks. I have to go back there. Last time I went I look for anything lace but I like this sillhouette so I have to look again.

No problem...good luck. Also, go to Theknot.com...they have TONS of photos of gowns from all designers....you might find something there, and it tells you the price range for all.

Try Adrienne's in Manhattan. I got my dress there and I love it! It's a silk charmeuse sheath dress.
They have a designer that makes the dresses for them. (although Mon Cheri has a very similar dress)

The dress in my avatar is silk charmeuse. It's an Elizabeth Fillmore. I was actually looking for someplace that could make the dress for less. Thanks for the tip on Adrienne's.

Monique Lhullier's lace dresses are very sheathy....and gorgeous.
Unfortuntately, they didn't look good on my body--I needed a little more structure.

if you go back to RK Bridal they have a whole rack dedicated to dresses with sheath silhouettes..it's the rack closest to the fitting rooms ..right by where you store your dresses before you try them on...

Melissa Sweet/Priscilla of Boston make a bunch. Pics of mine in my album, no poof at all.

FOREVER YOURS and Mon Cheri make beautiful and affordable dresses at fantastic prices. many Forever Yours dresses look like Monique Llhullier's gowns. My dress is actually a mon cheri (in album) and its ivory satin with an alecon lace overlay. I have seen the SAME dress by different designers for 1,200+. mine was 650 from RK bridal.

Lazaro, Alvina Valenta and Jenny Lee are good ones. I had my gown made since i had such trouble finding a no poof dress that wasnt thousands of dollars, and it was based on a combination of Lazaro and Alvina gowns.

I am wearing a silk charmeuse dress by Winnie Couture. (Pic in my album) I didn't want a pouf either. You should check out the Winnie Couture Spring 2007 Destination line. Gorgeous...and affordable. I spent 1K for mine and I think it wasoverpriced by a couple (or more ) hundred bucks. I was in a rush though and din't know any better. Good luck!

Re: Sheath Dresses

I guess I have to keep on looking. In many stores I have been in, they are few and far between.
