i never heard of it- what does it entail?

I'm not a shopper but my good friend is. This is what the website says;

Shecky's Girls Night Out in the Hamptons is a fantastically fun, indulgent shopping event! It's a five-hour dream evening—deliciously filled with endless fashion, glamour, beauty, shopping, cocktails, and freebies. Bring a friend or treat yourself to some 'you time'—all while enjoying the city's coolest vendors and most fashionable designs! Plus, Shecky's famous goodie bags come chock-full of great treats.

It's not really during the night. Its a PITA to get to the Hamptons but I figured my friend would really enjoy it for her bday its $15 (usually 30).

This is the reason I can't go to the GTG if its on the 21st.

i've gone before.. well not to the girls night out but to the beauty night out..

pretty much the same thing only girls night out has a lot of shopping for clothing, beauty night out has more accessories and make up kind of stuff..

the one i went to was in teh city, and basically we stood on a LONG LINE (read: get there EARLY) and then when we got in, we got a bag FULL of goodies, adn walked around to various vendors.. make up, soaps, earrings, candies, all kind of vendors.. there were some HOT looking men walking around handing out wine and some sort of steak that was marinated in beer (DELICIOUS) and some guy who has a tv show on the food network was signing copies of his book.

the goodie bag they give out has LOADS of good stuff.. really really good stuff.. from bobbie pins, to make up samples, and lotions, and little cooling tissues..things u'd love to have but would never spend extra money on...

all in all it was a pretty good night.. i didnt go to girls night out cause again it's all shopping for clothes from independent vendors and boutiques.. (READ: expensive!) beauty night out is often held in mid july/august.. a bunch of my girlfriends are meeting up to go to that one when it happens.

Thanks, I don't think i'd mind that as much as the shopping thing. My friend is a big shop-a-holic so I think she'd really have fun at something like this but i'm not certain I really want to drive all the way to the Hamptons for it. I have to call her tomorrow and see what she thinks since if its all expensive clothing, there might not be much for either of us especially since were both on the plus side.

I don't know why they are calling this thing a night out since its from 1-6.

I'm going to that next week. Sounds like fun! I'm looking forward to it.

Make sure to give me/us a full review...are you going to the clothing or makeup one?

I got my ticket!!!!!!!!! it will be my first time, but my friends that are going have gone before.
I'm going Friday night.

Yay! I go every time. I work in the city so its convenient. The Goodie bags are awesome!!! Ill be there Tues!

You don't have to buy anything either, you get your bag, have some free drinks check stuff out and leave if you want!

i went 2 years ago, it was ok.
if u like to spend money on frivilous things and drink then u'll enjoy it more than i did.

Thats why i'm wondering if I should go, I'm not frivilous at all. I guess fo $15 we might get something good in the goody bag and my guess is we don't have to stay the entire time. If we're that miserable, we can just leave.
