We aren't going to know for a long time.
But I did hear that our forces had been doing mass evacuations of the city prior to this, and moving civilians to the border so they could cross to safety.
I think Baghdad was pretty much empty prior to this bombardment with the exception of Saddam's people...

You all saw this on tv. I tell you we have to really pray for journalist. Thank goodness they are not like me. I could never hear of war and run in the same direction.

OMG. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was nuts! And the channel 7 correspondent's voice was shaking like crazy. He sounded soo scared.
Sage: of course, Marvin will be in my prayers and thoughts

I have satellite dish in my home and I get a news channel from Greece and they are showing the hospitals in Iraq and all of the civilians that have been wounded because of the attacks. THere are children being wounded and it outrages me that CNN or none of the other news channels are showing this. We shouldn't be too naive to think that there aren't any civilian casualities.

This is why I hate our news outlets.
And no one thought there weren't any...just that our military is doing everything it can to minimize it.

I still don't understand why Pres. Bush and the media has to tell us everything!! It's like we told Sadam, OK you have 48 hours to hide because we are going to come and bomb your a$$! I think that the media broadcasts too much info. It's like we are giving him advanced notice of our attack plans....really smart America!

But the advanced warning really doesn't do anything. I mean honestly, you saw what we've been doing to them today....do you think ANYTHING could have stopped this??

I DONT WANT TO START ANYTHING... JMO
It is VERY sad that innocent people are being injured/killed because of the bombing.
My only issue with the different countries news channels showing the injured in the hospitals is how do we know its from the bombing? How do we know Saddam didnt go in there and hurt them and blame the US?
It is a good ? why the US channels arent showing any of that though.
