A girl at my job, that I get along with really well, just started a relationship. So you all know that at the beggining of a relationship everything is so cute, new, perfect, etc. As she was telling me about her date lst night, a thought poped into my head. 'I will never have those first love feelings. I will never have the butterflies when I know I am about to see him...the nerves about our first kiss...our first time together, etc.' Now don't get me wrong I love FH, but it just made me a little sad.
Not sure what this really is...had to share.

I think everyone has thought about that while engaged. But yes you wont have that beginning honeymoon feelings anymore but that’s because our relationships have matured and we have different things to be excited over. Different feelings to go through that those new daters aren’t even close too

Yeah but you will have other firsts. Your first kiss as husband and wife, your first wedding anniversary, your first child together, etc. etc. But I know what you mean.

I feel that way sometimes but I always feel better when I think about how great my FH is and how strong our relationship has become
Those butterfly feelings get replaced with a feeling of deep content, love, mutual respect and comfort

I never thought of that - I still get butterflys when I see my fh and we live together. Sometimes I think to myself I can't believe I am marrying this awesome man that I love so much and I look forward to our new 'firsts' first kiss as husband and wife, first baby, first wedding anniversary.

FH: Well I know of way that you will always have your first kiss feeling in the morning.
Me: How?
FH: I can hit you over the head with a bat, so that you will lose your memory when you sleep. Then the next morning I will explain who I am,, make you fall in love with me again, and you'll have your first kiss feeling. (He likes 50 first dates)

I can so relate to you...I was just thinking the other day how wonderful it is when you fall in love with someone...what a 'high' it is....but think of it this way.....we have many other firsts ahead of us to be excited for!!

i have thought this too... but then i just think of all the firsts that we still have ahead of us and i remind myself to just enjoy every first and every stage as it comes cause you can't go back!

same here. each day I am at work Im on pins and needles to finally get home and see FH and kiss each other
I may be out of the norm, but I hated that beginning stage. I love where we at right now. Much more fun and so comfortable, which is what I was searching till I found my FH

I have thought about this also but still I can't wait to be married. FH and I dated for a couple of years then broke up for about 6 months so I got to experience falling in love with him twice.

I was struggling with this too.....I think it's part of the reason I was fighting so much with FH.
But think.......now you also won't have those 'OMG do I look ok?' 'I wonder if he likes me' 'Should I say I love you' feelings anymore either...........you know, the resistant, hesitant ones that make you feel sick..........

Yea good points brought up on this topic..I started to have those feelings when an old ex boyfriend called me out of the blue and asked me to meet him for drinks after work... If I were single, I would get all excited, dolled up and have that anticipation type feeling of the idea that I may get physical with him, take him home, etc... then I realized I am now a taken woman and have something called 'relationship obligations' that I cant just take off and meet different guys each night for drinks!!!
LOL..Then I just call FH and have him meet me at a bar so we pretend we just met and then run home and shag each other silly!
