I'm going to look for bridal gowns for the first time next week - CAN'T WAIT!!! Anyway, any suggestions on what to bring with me? (i.e. shoes, strapless, etc) THANKS!

Re: Shopping for wedding dresses
Definitely bring a pair of shoes and a strapless bra. Most places provide both but I always feel more comfortable with my own stuff, lol.

Yup, shoes and a strapless bra. Also, remember that you will have an attendant with you putting the dresses on so if you'll get a little embarassed be sure to wear a little more than a thong
ETA: Oh and also, bring pictures or style numbers of dresses you like to give the helpers a little more direction.

and ideas of dresses you'd like to try on. bring your camera just in case some places let you take pictures. don't be surprised if they refuse to let you though. oh, and of course, a second opinion.

Also, try to wear white, nude, or pale undies that aren't see-thru.
I went to NJ to look with my mom and totally didn't think of this and only had some lacy numbers...good thing I had an old pair left in my drawer at home!

Re: Shopping for wedding dresses
Don't put on a lot of makeup or do your hair too well b/c you'll be putting the dresses over your head again and again. But, DO spruce up a little bit b/c it's very hard to envision yourself in a dress when you have no makeup on, and your hair is in a greasy ponytail. (I learned that one the hard way!)
