So, I bought a Turkey this Nov (HUGE frozen one around Thanksgiving)... I've had it in my freezer & was planning to serve this Saturday- having family over. I just pulled it out of the freezer & was checking it out to see if I needed to put in fridge to start thawing... Well, I checked the expiration date and it says 11-12-02 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I though 'this couldn't be' so check around for any other dates... the only other I found said distributed by Wakefern food co. 2001... so it has to be right! I can't believe it! They are good with returns though, just a PITA to lug all 21lbs. of this frozen turkey back to the store & hope they will refund my $24! Can you believe??? Lession learned: Always check expiration dates FIRST!!

That's all I need- to serve everyone (oh- and PS this is really the 1st time I'm cooking cooking for anyone!!!) and it tastes horrible! I would never hear the end of it LOL LOL!!!

What the ! OMG that is crazy and slightly funny. I will definitely check expiration dates from now on. Im pretty good with that, but I would never think to check it on a turkey around thanksgiving time! haha

I know that Shoprite and Wakefern are the same company but there's NO reason for the expiration date!
