Short dresses to change into?

Short dresses to change into?

Anyone planning on purchasing a second short cocktail dress to change into during the reception?

It seems like such a good idea (especially if you plan on having a major dance party) but I don't think I could bring myself to take off my wedding dress.

I think I am just going to try and find something that is comfortable to dance in for the entire day. I can't see buying a dress costing hundreds (or thousands ) of dollars without wearing it all night. It's bad enough that it is just for one night! IMO. If I had tons of money, I probably would because it would be fun to do 'costume changes.' So if you can/want to, I say go for it!

I have plenty of time to think about. Most likely I won't wind up doing it because of the whole $$ point you mentioned... but it is a fun concept.

im doing it. im not 100% in love with my first dress so i bought a second dress thats more of a party dress and totally not traditional. i opted to take a chance and buy from peridress so im not sure how its going to come out. i guess ill find out in a month of so.
also i dont want to walk around and dance in a big puffy dress. i rather have a lighter easier to walk in dress for the reception.

OMG so happy to see this post...I just bought a 2nd dress on Sat. If you are looking for something different and not too expensive, go to Davids bridal. I got a 50's style dress which is SO comfortable and it was on sale. I also got my shoes to match in the clearance section and they gave me an additional 10% off since I bought them with the dress.
Totally worth it because my dress has a corset and is so uncomfortable. I'm going to change into it to cut the cake. Its so cute and playful...I can't wait!

hmmm... imo, i don't think i'd want to take off my beautiful wedding dress for the ENTIRE day of my wedding.

i did a quick search online though, and found this absolutely beautiful gown - not sure if it's vivienne westwood inspired or is actually made by her. now, if i were to have that... it WILL make me think of changing outfits....

Re: Short dresses to change into?

I have a second dress but changing when we come out at reception. I am Just asking, but you girls doing it for cake cutting, are you doing extended hours for dancing at reception? I feel like that is the last thing I will do and all my dancing will be way beforehand...

My reason for second dress is I will wear first for ceremony, pics, and CH.
It's beautiful but long and traditional. I wanted funky for dinner/dancing/after party.

My first dress was under 1k so spending 70 on second was ok for me!

I'm changing for my after party. If anyone is interested I'm selling the dress after my wedding in 3 weeks. It's the Melissa Sweet Mari. Pm me if interested.

I would but I really want all of my wedding day pics to be in my wedding dress. FH wants to afterparty in the hotel we're staying in, so I may buy something for that.

I am a Maggie Sabelle Bride, and everyone who has tried that dress on knows how heavy it is!! I love the dress more then anything but i do not know how i am going to feel all day in it. I was thinking of searching high and low for a nice nice white short comfy dress. Have it ready to go in the bridal suite(with tags still on it of course) and if i really must change, at least i know i have an option. If not, have mom return it for me while im on my HM!

I also had an idea of surprising my Bridesmaids and buying their dress, just in white. Now my Matron is on this site as a 09 Bride(woot-woot, she is getting married on sept 13), i know she wont tell my girls, lol. I jjust really really really really want the shoes my girls are wearing on my big day, lol Just ideas that flow through my head
