short sleeve dresses...do they even exist???

Original post by seta

Girls...my wedding is 10months away and i have faced the fact that i must start gown shopping... I am not looking forward to it for many reasons...one I wish I had lost weight since the engagement..and two I hate my arms and it seems like 95% of the dresses that are out there are sleeveless!!!!

Did you guys see any dresses with sleeves when you went looking????????

I am so

Mine is short sleeved - I got it at David's Bridal.

It's beautiful..i think i saw u post this before...but it is not on their site....

I think this dress is so lovely- I saw it in ivory too, which I think is gorgeous as well. I would have jumped on this one in a heartbeat (damn Reem Acra! )

just don't pigeonhole yourself. you CAN tone up your arms too Luv, 10 months is a hell of a long time to get into shape and arms usually shape up the fastest, so don't rule it out too.

Hey Steph...I'm the PRESIDENT of 'I HATE MY ARMS'...LOL

Looking for long sleeved dresses was one of my first posts on the boards....and I've learned the following:

If you find a dress and it has spaghetti straps, capped sleeves, 3/4, long, etc (basically anything EXCEPT halter) - the manufacturer can add sleeves...at an extra cost.

I tried on PLENTY of dresses with sleeves and w/out sleeves to get an idea and had I not gone the dressmaker route, I would not have had a problem.

So don't stress, get out there and start trying on, and leave the sleeves to the manufacturer!

Thanks...i think i am going to start looking and see what happens...i can always have it made!!

Let me know!!!!

I may.. i was thinking of getting a dress made when I found this last night... I fell in the love with the top..i would probably want a simple bottom..not tiered....What do you guys think???

That neckline is SUPER flattering...I would also nixx the tier and add a train with some detailing...

Just remember ladies....most bodies do not look good with short sleeves

Ive been watching BBC What Not to Wear all day today and short sleeves make arms look bigger than that are

go for long or 3/4 or even cap sleeves but stay away from short sleeves or risk looking like an 80's bride
