So my FH came up with the idea of doing shots along with the champange toast obviously for those who are willing to take one. Crazy or Cool?

Re: Shots and Champagne
you should make sure shots are allowed at your RH... my RH has a clear rule for no shots...i guess they don't want all the guests getting sloppy... lol

most halls dont allow shots (theyre apparently not allowed in suffolk county at halls or something?)
The way around it is they can do shot sized drinks in scotch glasses
believe CB is the hall that recommended that to us. They'll do them as long as guests dont get out of hand

ahh, i didn't know that was a rule.. lol. makes sense...
but my BM told me that i could get around that easily, just as long as ppl don't get out of hand.. i guess just like the way it was suggested to you!

Re: Shots and Champagne
Honestly, bad idea. First of all, Rh probably won't allow it, it'll cause a lot of confusion, most people won't want to do it, you don't want everyone getting sh!tfaced and you yourself don't want to get plastered too early!

yeah i know they can serve it to you in scotch glasses. Not everyone is gonna wanna do a shot.....maybe if u wanted to just do it w/ ur close firends or even bridal party that might be cute

I agree with the other ladies, stick with the Champagne and save the shots for another time.

Re: Shots and Champagne
I don't drink because I am diabetic, but I might be giving shots to the bridal party to do. FH is a big jack daniels fan and GM are drinkers so I know they will enjoy. It depends on how much they drink before we arrive. I'm a little afriad of them getting too drunk and out of hand.

i love this idea... not sure about it as the toast, but my FH wants them to give out shots as people are leaving the ceremony... haha
so I asked my BM because I read on here that most places don't allow shots and he was like why wouldn't we allow shots! Of course you can have shots!!! He said that some brides don't want people doing shots, but they definitely allow them!

My hall is in suffolk county and we are allowed to take all the shots we want.

Re: Shots and Champagne
I will most likely allow shots to anyone whenever. A friend of mine actually had an ice louge at her reception. As far as the toast though...I would definitely stick to champagne. We might do shot mixers randomly throughout the night where the servers walk around with trays of shots and the DJ announces everyone taking the shot together and the reason for the shot......we will have dedications, etc for each shot. It's an idea.
