Should adults be allowed to attend a movie w/out kids at 'R' movies

I know I will be bashed for this.

We went to the movies this weekend sat night showing. R rated movie, there were so many freaking kids their. OF course they had to leave the theater 40 freaking times, cause they had to eat all the damn crap they could.

I turned around to Paul and said they should have certain movie times ADULT ONLY on R rated movies. My husband said I was nuts, but of course I dont think so.

What do you think? Movie theaters should have certain movie times for adults only?

i don't think it would happen. by making it an R rated movie, they are saying that it should be adults only. and the parents who think its appropriate to bring their young kids .. well, you can't do much about them.

I know, but how great would it be to go to a movie and no kids would be there. Ahhhhhhhh parents make it worse too.

well they do have theaters for aults only.. but I'm sure you'll want to avoid them..

seriously.. i'm inclined to agree. I can understand how frustrating it is when kids are running around.. talking through a movie, etc.. it really can try your patience.

I went with friends to see leaving las vegs when it was out and the front row was this whole family, strollers and all...

and I said to my friends.. what the hell are they bringing kids to THIS movie for?

though adults can be as bad.. went to the movie Saturday night.. had about 4 cell phone calls ring in the theater.. its' like turn your #^$% phone off... so I'll agree with you.. but it'll never happen.

I agree 100%. I think kids under 12 shouldn't be allowed in a R rated movie no matter HOW many parents are there. This is why these kids are 'growing up' to fast!!!

Then again I would love a theatre that would be for 25 & up. So we don't have to deal w/ stupid talk either. I always end up w/ HS kids who are just MORONS!!!

i agree.......they should be forbidden from entering with them. The theatres could help the parents stick to the rules.....you can't get into a club unless you are 21, then why not stop parents from having their children view 'adult' material.

I haven't seen too many adult movies since I had kids. I wouldn't take them to see any. There are more than enough age appropriate movies for children of all ages that it isn't necessary. What are parents thinking?

I hear ya, I was surprised to see so many youngkids at the Passion of Christ. I actually thought it was weird

Considering that one lady had a heart attack and died 'due to the violence', children really don't need to see Jesus get beaten and nailed to a cross! But hey that's just my opinion

I think in the new theater in Holtsville (Island 16 I think it's called)...they have theaters for adults only. I think it's called the directors chair...or something like that. They have the same movie in different theaters and one is adults only...for only a few movies...probably the new ones. Also..I think it's $1-$2 more...but it's probably worth it. I have only been there once though....
