the grandmothers? We heard today that the grandmother of the groom is very upset b/c she hasn't received an invitation to the wedding. I didn't send one to my grandmother. We heard all along that the grandmothers were coming. Were we wrong for not sending one???

Thanks guys. I just didn't think it was necessary to send invitations to immediate family members. They are all part of the ceremony. Who knew?

Re: Should an invitation be sent to...
I am sending my invitation to all my immediate family because I know that they would want to say it for remembrance.

I also think everyone should get an invite. My calligrapher even made one up for me and DH...

I would defintely send one. You are supposed to send one to everyone that is invited. I am even sending one to my father and to FFIL.
If you havne't told them about why you didn't send it, you can either 1) say you didn't realize and apologize like mad or 2) say you don't know why she didn't get it, maybe it got lost in the mail and give her another one pronto
But it was an honest mistake, she should understand

Yes, you were wrong not to send invitations to your grandmothers. In the olden days when I was first married, we personally delivered our invitations to our grandparents. It was a sign of respect that I'm sorry is no longer practiced today.
