so i registered for a set of wine glasses from WIlliams Sonoma that cost $150 ... my 'grandparents' (they're not really related to me, but they might as well be) bought this set for us and the glasses are nice, but not $150 nice.
Should I return them to the store and buy something else with that money?
we rarely have my 'grandparents' over at the apt, and i'm sure they'd never know (we could always use other wine glasses if necessary) ... but i feel a bit guilty.
what do you guys think? should i return the wine glasses and buy something else or keep them and enjoy them?

i would feel bad too but if they are not worth the money than I would definitly return them and use that money towards something else you need/want.

Keep them for more everday use (well, maybe not everyday, you don't strike me as much of a lush/wino ) and keep the other ones on your registry for holidays and parties, maybe?

I would do this. I wouldn't want to hurt their feelings.

Re: should i ...?
well, i'd use the money to buy something else ... not wine glasses ... i just don't know if i can justify $150 for 8 glasses of wine.
i'm just not sure if it's something i should do because i feel guilty returning their gifts ....

Hm, I'd keep them. I received Tiffany wine glasses from one of my father's co-workers, it would make me nervous to use them, but that's what they're for - not to look pretty and if I break one, I'll just buy another!
ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. After I received that gift it really hit me that I'M GETTING MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For a nice set of 8 that's not so bad. I thought it was for a set of 2!
I'd keep 'em!

I think you should return. I mean, do you look for gifts you gave people when you go to their house? I usually don' t and I don't think they'd notice.
BTW--we are wine drinkers and love our Mikasa wine classes from BB&B

I'm confused. If you registered for them, then you knew how much they were. Why would you want to return them now?

Re: should i ...?
lol yeah, i seem to be confusing lots of people today (not just here)
i did register for them but just didn't really think about it when i clicked the 'i want this' button
... in retrospect, i feel like $150 is a lot to spend on wine glasses and I could use that money on better things.
