should i be annoyed? (kinda long, sorry)

okay. so bach party is this weekend. MOH has been planning everything and everyone has been great at keeping it a surprise.

my sis HAS TO work saturday (no biggie), so she was planning on meeting us saturday night. she doesnt drive so she is taking the train.

appppparentllllyyy...now there is an issue. she ASSUMED someone would be picking her up from the train station. MOH told her its a short taxi ride away, and figured she would just take a taxi

apparently, it has become a big deal.

of course, with the same timing, my sis is dealin with stuff at home (stupid, loser boyfriend!!!) and a lot at work (tax season), so she is already stressed.....

so my mom decided to tell me the issue last night. i told her i KNOW NOTHING about the weekend, so i cant help (is that selfish of me?)...anyway, my mom decides to TELL ME THE TRAIN STATION. W T FFFFFFFFF. it is an effing surprissseeeeee. i wont have my car. how could i help?!?!?

so i told my mom i KNOW NOTHINGGGG. so i couldnt help. and i thanked her (yeah, ok ) for tellin me the station. she got offended

so now i get to work and read my email....sis FORWARDS ME AN EMAIL titled 'FW: Bachelorette party - final details WOOHOOOOO!'

what the heck????????

so of course i dont wanna read it cuz i dont wanna ruin the surprise!!!...so i scroll down slowly....

in the message my sister says: 'I know I'm only a bridesmaid and the brides sister, = but really is such rude treatment warranted'......so i scroll down

it has to do with my sis being offended no one will pick her up.....and i learned (which i didnt want to knoww!!!) where we are going is like LESS THAN A MILEEEE from the train station!!!!

soooooo......honestly, i dont see the big deal about the pickup/taxi thing. we are all adults. is that mean of me?

and im annoyedddd that my mom and sis are taking this to be such a big deal that they would go ahead AND RUIN MY SURPRISSEE!!! i know my mom told me the train...but my sis FORWARDED ME A POTENTIALLY DETAILED EMAIL! (i deleted the email)

and i feel bad for my MOH planning things and then they go ruin the surprise cuz she cant get a ride. like ***.

i know i should be more sensitive perhaps cuz she is dealin with other drama.....but should i be annoyed? am i over-reacting?

IMHO having drama in ur life doesnt grant you the right to act like a baby NO OFFENSE but thats how i see this situation...

she has to work, so she should make the effort to get RIGHT DOWN THE BLOCK by a taxi!!! if she doesnt drive, that shouldnt be too foreign of an idea for her

id be PISSED if they were making such a big deal about something so little and to go as far as ruining your surprise!!!

GROW UP, S*U*C*K IT UP, and get a friggen taxi!!!! is what i would say!!

and that sounds selfish, but seriously, if you had to CATER to every little whine, you probably wouldn't even be able to make it down the aisle, u kno??

and jeeze....how many OTHER ppl have drama in their life that ARENT complaining or ruining ur surprise???

it sounds VERY petty to me on her part...

again no offesnse but im being straightforward and honest

Nope I'd be super annoyed too. Its like they are trying to ruin your surprise. Your sister should just **** it up and take a taxi. She's not a child but she is acting like one. Gotta love family!!!

Re: should i be annoyed? (kinda long, sorry)

this is how i feel too! and i cant believe my mom is in on it also. what the heck.

this is what i wrote back:

'sis...i can only read so much before deleting this. I do not want to know the details of this weekend. Everyone has done a great job to keep it a surprise and I really want to enjoy that aspect of it. Im not sure when the train/taxi issue arose (as I said I don’t want to accidentally read any details), but I hope you guys can figure it out.
..... unfortunately, I have no information. I don’t know where the place is, and I don’t know what the plans are that Saturday evening. If there is drinking involved, having someone drive might not be ideal either. But as I said, I don’t know the details. And honestly, I am trying NOT to know the details. The best thing about all this is that im not part of the planning/details/etc. and I actually like not knowing! It is allowing me the opportunity to just go and enjoy. There is more than enough planning john and I are dealing with on a daily basis......I am sure this can easily be resolved one way or another. And once I actually know where we are going and the intended plans I can try to help. But at this moment, I don’t know enough to do anything. And I wont have my car either. Im actually not sure who is coming and who is driving....so I really don’t knowww.....Saturday is still a day away, so I wouldn’t stress too much about this. Sorry you are dealing with a lot (at home and work), but don’t stress about this and just enjoy yourself when you arrive.'

is that bad? i dont want to be mean, but c'mon its rude to fwd me a secret email that is so petty too!

now im just concerned she is gonna come w a big chip on her shoulder. i hate tension and drama

i think im gonna just drink all-day saturday so when she comes i wont have a clue. lolol

Re: should i be annoyed? (kinda long, sorry)

she needs to get herself a taxi, that's ridiculous!

I'd be upset too. A taxi for a mile is not expensive at all. She needs to scuk it up and just take a taxi!!

She really just needs to get a taxi, I don't see the big deal with taking a taxi by herself. Sorry you have to deal with this nonsense. Have a great time though.

Eventho I see her point that no one wants or can pick her up, I don't understand why she is taking up with u.
I mean what can u do? U know nothing! And ruining ur surprise is just plain mean.
Ur totally not overreacting.
She needs to go back and talk to the other BMs again. But if u guys will be drinking by that point I don't see how anybody in their right mind or legaly can go and pick her up.

Ur email to her is very nice.

You are 100% right, my mom and my sister would prob do the same exact thing to me. Hang in there it is not your place to get involved, she can take a cab to a destination less than a mile away from the train. Enjoy your surprise and try to stay drama free!!!!!

Re: should i be annoyed? (kinda long, sorry)

I agree with a previous poster, she should be used to taking taxis/finding non-driving ways to get around if she doesn't drive.

Honestly, tell your MOH what is up and just be like - 'she almost ruined the surprise for me, this clearly is a big deal, can anyone freaking pick her up (1 mile away) just so my bach party doesn't get ruined?' and tell your sister that you aren't the person to talk to about this, your MOH is.

She should just s*ck it up and take a taxi. I would've done that WITHOUT question. This weekend is about you, not her!

i dont see why they can't pick her up but at the same time if its only a mile she can s*ck it up and take a taxi.

and they shouldnt be involving you in the drama

Janis you are not overreacting. Your sister is being selfish!!! She knows that you are getting married and your bachelorette party is a surprise and a big moment for you, but she had to just go and ruin it!!! She should
s u c k it up and go take the taxi. It's not ur fault that her boyfriend is giving problems and all of that. I wonder if there's is a bit of jealousy there? Hmmmm....

Your email back was very nice, now I would just let them figure it out. I don't see what the big deal is in taking a taxi either.
