My DH left his wedding ring on the shelf in the bathroom today. I called him and he says that he forgot to put it back on after putting on his moisturizer(yes, he wears moisturizer). I really have no reason to doubt him, but my mind just started going places. Maybe I watch too many Lifetime movies.

Re: Should I be suspicious?
If this is the only instance that would make you suspicious, then I'd wait before worrying.
I take my rings off every night before I go to bed, and I have forgotten to put them on once or twice when leaving the house. It doesn't mean I love my DH any less or am looking to cheat.
I'm sure it's okay.

Re: Should I be suspicious?
My DH forgot his on the bathroom shelf a couple of times after his a.m. grooming, I wouldn't be worried.

He's not a pilot with a wife in every hub, is he??? Wait, I don't think that was a Lifetime movie ... but Jack Wagner was a hottie in it anyway
I wouldn't worry!! I like to bust DH's chops all the time when he forgets ...

My hands have been super-dry recently, too, so I would give him the benefit of the doubt.
Guys can be forgetful about this type of thing.

I'd only be suspicious if he acted funny when you questioned him. Anyway, guys don't need to take their rings off to cheat.

Re: Should I be suspicious?
I don't think I'd be suspicious at all. Maybe you should have taken it, not tell him and have him freak out when he realized it wasn't where he left it.
My DH took it off once (I don't know why) and left it next to the stick of his Mustang. We got out of the car to get a carwash and he realized that he left it there as we were walking through the car wash. I screamed at him telling him that if the vacuum sucked it up I was going to be extremely pissed! Well thank God it was in the same place he left it.
I think the shock of losing it scared him into never taking it off again.

Actually, I did see that one on Lifetime.
Thanks ladies. I am glad to know that other men forget their's. I think I am just a little upset that he forgot it today because it is the 5 yr. anniversary of our first date.

Re: Should I be suspicious?
I wouldn't worry. DH & I were leaving our apt for the weekend over the summer, and we were about to get on our way when he says 'wait, i forgot something at home, lets just turn around real quick'. and then he starts putting his hand outside the car window - he was driving-totally busted.
He was so embarrassed (even before i started making cracks). I think he's permanently attached it to his hand now lol. some guys just are scatterbrained sometimes.
I'm sure he just forgot it.

Was he with a hooker when you called him? No? Then he probably just forgot!
Mr Boots can't get his claddagh ring off because his fingers are too sausagey!

Funny story, one of DH's friends was engaged and they broke up when he WAS with a hooker and his cell redialed his FI and she heard the whole thing!
ETA: I am SURE this isn't the case with his ring. Men just forget, which I don't understand because I have NEVER forgotten to wear my ring. But I don't forget to wear deodorant or brush my teeth, which he also forgets sometimes.

Re: Should I be suspicious?
I agree, unless this is one more thing piled on top of other suspicious behavior - I would just ignore it and write it off as simple forgetfullness! Craig never takes his ring off, but I've forgotten to put mine back on more than once - sometimes not even noticing until the next day! Don't worry - maybe you have been watching too many Lifetime movies...

Re: Should I be suspicious?
Heidi, I understand your concerns (amplified by the fact that its your 5 yr dating anniversay - congrats ).
But I think this is totally a 'guy thing' I know that if I suspected my hubby EVERYTIME he forgot to wear his ring , I'd be a stressed out mess! Meaning, Anthony forgets his ring ALL THE TIME (he's gotten better, mind you) and I truly chalk it up to being 1/2 out of it in the mornings, as well as not being a jewlery guy overall
