Should I be tanning already?

Should I be tanning already?

I am not sure if I should start yet? If I should, how many times a week should I go. I am so afraid of peeling

Depends on how dark your base shade is and how fast you tan in the sun. If you went to Florida for one day and could come back nice and bronze, then 5 or 6 sessions will be enough for your wedding day. However, if you're like me with very fair skin (which takes a while to tan in the real sun)---it'll take between 15-20 sessions to develop a good base. So, I'd start now. And if you're in the middle, then maybe in a week or two. JMO.

I am not going to go tanning at all, Im so afraid of burning, peeling, or getting a rash or something. my girlfriend did this and she burnt and her face was peeling- the bulbs were too high or something- she never ever burned before- you could imagine the drama in that- NO makeup would help her.

what is your skin tone like???? i would definitely start to tan now, like once every 4 or 5 days to get a base. it also depends on how dark you want to be for your wedding, but this way you can slowly build up nice color, without burning yourself for your wedding!

I have Olive skin. I don't want to be too dark because it will look too fake.

I guess I will start this week

I think I am going to start soon... I have some tan left over from the summer but it is fading fast...I just want some color...

If you have fair skin or burn easily start now.....go once or twice a week until you SLOWLY build up a base. -Then all you'll have to do is maintain it...... the last thing you want is peeling skin on your wedding day

peeling only happens when you burn (and don't moisturize enough!) I agree with the other girls, start now, but GO SLOW!

If you are very pale, then I would say yes. It would take you a while to get a base tan, and if you are afraid of peeling, you are going to need to take it slow, go for less time than max. Once you have a good base tan, I find that if you go every other day you can get really dark, that is what always works for me.

I am fair & I am going to start this week. I can't believe I am going to do this whole tanning salon thing , but I really don't want to be milky white on my Wedding Day! I just have to remember to slather on the moisturizer so I don't peel!!!!!

I agree--just don't get so dark that you get the 'dirty tan.' You know, the girl that gets so tan she looks like she hasn't showered in a while.
