Posting under an alias. My FSIL is getting married after me. Her MOH and 1 BM are planning the bachelorette party. The idea they came up with has to be on a certain date (the only day the event is available) and on that date i will be on my honeymoon. I told this to the MOH and BM and they are still going ahead with plans because they really want to take FSIL to this thing. Should i be upset? I am close with FSIL and wanted to be there but i dont want to cause tension. (FSIL has no idea about these plans)
TIA

Re: should i be upset?
That's a tough one But if it's something that really means a lot to your FSIL and would be perfect for her, then I'd encourage them to go for it. You could call them while they are there or just before and talk to you FSIL and apologize for not being there for her, but that you knew this would be the greatest thing for her.
I'm sure it's not exactly what you wanted to hear, but it will be your FSIL's turn to be the center of attention.

Re: should i be upset?
I think you did the right thing. But I think if I were your FSIL, I'd rather do something else so that you could be there. Do you think that this event is more important to her? There must be something else just as fun that you could ALL do. But, on the other hand, I would not want to cause trouble either. I guess I would just tell her afterwards how much you wanted to be there and really wished you were there.

You could always come up with an alternative thing to do with her and friends if possible.

Re: should i be upset?
I already told them to go ahead but prior to that i did give another suggestion but they seem intent on their idea. And to be honest, the idea is nothing spectacular. So long as you have a your BMs and friends, everyone should be happy. Thanks for the advice. It is truly appreciated.
