What do you guys think? Should I bother with sending out the save the date cards? Most of my close friends will be getting an email soon directing them to a wedding website we are building (I'll post it when it is done). In regards to my parents friends they are hearing about the date from word of mouth. What do you guys think?

I have them but going to send them out but it's a pain in the butt to get everyone's address.

I am doing them because our wedding is on a holiday weekend.....

I don't think it is necessary. We are doing them only because we are getting married Thanksgiving weekend. If you think your family can spread the word, then don't send them.

I ordered STDs because I live in California and unfortunately I don't see people as often as I would like to.
But I do not think they are a necessity, however I do find them helpful if the wedding is on a holiday weekend.
