should i change my date??

should i change my date??

ok....so i have been debating this for a while now....but.....FH is really getting upset about the $$ situation. so....if i change my date to a month earlier we can save $15/head. which if we have 240 guests attend(will prob be less than that)...will come out to be $4000 dollars less expensive. only problem is....

church has to be around 11am (they cant really do it earlier b/c funerals are priority and are always first in the AM...so, they said yeah, they can schedule us for 10am...but...if there is a funeral we would be bumped up)....soooo...in order to avoid a HUGE ordeal of people arriving to our wedding and possibly seeing a funeral there and having to WAIT outside for the wedding to start...we would have to just schedule the ceremony at 11. if we change the date...our CH will start at 12:30...which will not give us much time at all in between the 2. (it takes about 35 minutes to get to RH from church). so we would have to take most of our pictures before the ceremony. (maybe meet at like 8am - i know, EARLY, and take limo to the beach or something for pics...).

we dont want to miss the whole CH....we are willing to miss a little bit of it to take a few more pics at RH if need be.

if we keep our date...our CH will start at 1:30 (so we would have an extra hour). we would still prob meet in the AM for pics...b/c an hour still is not a ton of time to me. but at least it would not be as rushed between ceremony and CH. i would feel more relaxed. (which was the reason we picked this date in the first hand.)

WHAT DO U GIRLS THINK?? should i change my date to try to compromise with FH?? or do you think it is crazy to be that rushed??if it was up to him he would have the reception in the middle of the winter but i dont really want to do that. he would even have it at a MUCH more inexpensive place to save $$ (ie: knights of columbus, VFW)...i just really dont want to do that. i can't help it....i am a typical girl in that sense...we tried exploring other options, just i wasnt really into any of the other places. Sorry this is SO long. i appreciate any and all honest opinions. be blunt, and honest. thanks!!!!

I think it is up to whatever you guys want. Myself I don't think I would change the date. Its a special day. I wouldn't want to feel rushed and worry the whole time that we are to hurry. That is for me though. I would worry about the extra money if I stayed with the day but that I feel you are going to worry no matter what. Its a tough decision but what ever you feel is easier for you. Hope I helped a little.

i honestly would not change the date because of the time difference and because you said that you do not want to be rushed like three different times just now i would consider other things if u are trying to save some money like compromising your money on other vendors or trying to cut corners by doing DIY projects..and i def would not want to be stressed the day of the wedding..if i understand correctly the ceremony would start at 11 and your cocktail hour would start at 1230 and it takes a half hour to get there and i dont know if ur planning on having a full mass because that can take an hour and that leads you no time at all even to take pics just outside the church and to do your thank yous by the door...you do not want to spend so much money and be stressed out the day of...good luck with ur decision and keep us posted!!

What if you changed the date and got married at the RH?

i wouldn't change the date...its your day ultimately you need to do what makes you happy!! another option...changing the day of the week..would that be possible?

You can also change it to that Sunday because everyone has off for Memorial Day so you can do it that day and it should be a lot cheaper for the Sunday.

My FH is the same way.. he wanted to have it in the middle of the winter and he wanted a day wedding.. and then he wanted a million things that are cheaper than what I want.

I TOTALLY understand the $$ situation.. but I just feel like.. hopefully I'm doing this only once.. and I have to do it atleast somewhat the way I've always pictured it..

I DOUBT that you pictured yourself on your wedding day rushing around shielding your guests from seeing dead bodies.

Sooo in my honest opinion.. If you have to change your date.. just be ok with your decision.. I would hate to think that you look back on it thinking you should have just spent the extra $$ and not have been rushed and stressed.

GOOD LUCK either way!!!!!
