Should I even bother with this vendor?

Should I even bother with this vendor?

Called a vendor and asked if they could mail me some info and if I could set up an appointment next week. Vendor asked why I needed the info if I wanted an appointment. I said I want to go over what services you provide. Vendor said, oh so you want to see how much everything costs.....
Further into the conversation vendor asks what time I'd like to make the appointment. I said the earliest would be 7pm because FI is coming from the city. Vendor doesnt work that late and will have to call me back to rework the schedule. Since when is 7PM too late?
Should I even bother with this vendor? The only thing I can keep in mind is the person I spoke with is not the owner, only the assistant. Owner is out of town for the nest 2 weeks.

I would wait to speak to the owner and not deal with the assistant again. And if you don't go with this person, I would send a nice little letter to the owner explaining the way you were treated by their assistant. Hell, send it even if you do go with them.

Wait for the owner. I'm sure the woner woudl work something out with you. The assistant might now know what s/he's talking about. 7pm is NOT too late! People work!!!

ETA: On second thought, I'd dump them...EVERY employee should be nice, esp if they're gonna be involved in your wedding. I realized that I get p/oed at vendors who aren't nice to me now!

If their not interested in 'wooing' you now, what makes you think they'll treat you like a 'queen' at your wedding, right?

FH called a limo company who shall remain nameless last night.

Well FH was trying to make an appointment and the guy kept saying, 'why don't you come during the week one night',
FH kept saying 'because FW & I are off next Friday and will be visiting vendors'.
'Just come at night, it's usually quiet'
'it's really not covienent, we come from queens'
'But we're right off the LIE'
'Exactly, we work in NYC, live in Queens, we don't want to sit in traffic for 2 hours to see you'
'But it's not that far from Queens'
'It is when you are going 2 miles an hour'
'Traffic isn't that bad'
'Really, when was the last time you took the LIE on a weeknight from Queens?'
'OK, alright, well then when do you want to come?'
'Next Friday at 2'
'I open at 2, so don't come until at least after 3 '

Bottom line, this went on for 20 minutes, we aren't even going to consider them now. If you want my business you'll try to work within my schedule.

I would personally be very put off by this... we are all spending so much money. They should be at our beckon call.

I say dump the vendor. I dumped a vendor or two for this same reason. You might want to try and wait for the owner... but only if you really really like this vendor's work...

You've got to 2be kidding....I would not even consider them, either of them --how rude. The assistant represents the company, I'd skip that company, and limo people, well it seems as though they didn't want to be accomodating, they must be rolling in the money to be treating prospect clients as such and they don't need the business........NEXT.....

I had skip some photographers that didnt' call back OR send the stuff they said they would, b/c I was ina hurry.
Now I am havignthat issue w/ limo's.
Oen comapny witha good rep, told me to call thursday evening, & I called at 8 :15 as soon as I got home, but the person had left & i was told ' she left in a hurry tonight' * no one knew when she'd be back in, & she's the only oen I can speak to.
I haven't had a chance to call back, but they have a good rep , so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

If you dont have the time to talk to me or if you are even the tiniest bit rude to me, you will not get ONE PENNY from me!!!!

If you are asking this - you already know the answer. There are way too many vendors out there to chance it with someone who doesn't weem to want the business in the first place.

Move on. You are in for more headaches later on. If they will not stay until 7:00 for the initial appointment - they will never adjust to your schedule later once they have your money!!

I wouldn't bother, to be honest. If you have to deal with the assistant now, you'll also have to deal with her later. And, she was probably treating you better than she would someone who already paid and signed the contract!

I had a similar situation happen and it ended very baddly!

I had a similar situation and went to the appointment anyway. Needless to say it was a waste of my time. They were no more help in person then over the phone. And I don't care who it is they should not be rude to you.

Something that I learned during the planning process is....the treatement you receive now is usually a good barometer of how you will be treated on your wedding day and after by that vendor. So my advice is to cross them off your list.

The inability to be flexible is a minor problem now. Now it just seems annoying. But it can become a major problem very close to your wedding and a source of unneeded stress.

There are to many vendors out there...No need to deal with one who is not welcoming your business.
