FH wants to go to the cocktail hour, I didn't want to go, but now I am rethinking for his sake.
I didn't want to go because I wanted the first time we walked into a room together as husband and wife to be at the reception. But FH really hasn't asked for anything - he is letting me make all the decisions so I feel like I should let him have this one......
What did everyone else do?

Re: Should I go to my CH?
our plan is to go to the CH and greet as many people as we can, so we can really enjoy the reception and dance, chat without feeling like we have to go around to every table. Just our thing, I know plenty of couples who don't...but if it's important to FH... Also, think about it that when you are actually marrie dis the first time they'll see you as hubby and wife, and they will still clap just as loud when you make the grand entrance!

Re: Should I go to my CH?
DH and I had the same discussions....I wanted to go to CH for several reasons.....I wanted to say hello to all my guests,I wanted to see everything set up(memory candles, placecard table etc.) and we paid soooo much money I wanted to start enjoying the night..DH agreed with all these but he still felt it would take away from our grand entrance at the reception....we wound up going to CH and we were soooo glad we did,and it didn't at all take away from the excitement of our grand entrance to the reception......HTH

Re: Should I go to my CH?
We're definitely going to the cocktail hour. This is our wedding! We want to enjoy it. For one thing, I'm really against the idea of the wedding day as photo shoot rather than wedding. We'll take some shots during the cocktail hour, but not the entire thing. And, besides, we're not being announced at the reception or anything.
I think that if your FH really wants this, then you should let him have it. He probably hasn't asked for much, and wants to enjoy his wedding day.

I would def not want to miss my CH, that is the best part and that is a good time to meet and greet the guests.

Re: Should I go to my CH?
We def are going ! We made sure all pics will be done prior to the ceremony and CH so that we wouldnt miss a minute. You pay too much money for it !!!! Enjoy and spend it with the special people in your life !!! If it is about having a private moment with your new hubby - make sure the two of you get your own limo for the drive from the ceremony to the RH. If that is an option for you. IF your getting married at the RH you can spend a lil time in the bridal suite, and go to half of your CH.

This is our plan! Well, my plan FH thinks we should still go table hopping at the reception!

Re: Should I go to my CH?
I never even considered missing our CH. So many people I love are coming from far away to be here. It may be one of the few opportunities to talk to them, since I plan to do a lot of dancing later in the evening.

Re: Should I go to my CH?
We opted out of a receiving line after the ceremony, and instead greeted everyone during the cocktail hour. I wanted to enjoy the food, the drink and the steel drummers!
ETA: I am REALLY glad I went to the cocktail hour... the day flew by so quickly and I am happy to have had that extra hour.
