Should I invite her or no?

Should I invite her or no?

I'm so bummed...I really can't add more people but you never do know what the response will be in the end.

I already had to add 2 more people! Actually that's four including spouses!

The woman that I replaced at my school is REALLY wonderful to me. She retired last year and I took over her position - I came in and visited the school last year and she showed me around. Then late last year, when I had to put together the holiday concerts and I was about to have a nervous breakdown, she had me come over to her place and help me go over the logistics. Anytime I'm frustrated or need help with the job, I can email her and she's always there.

I really don't see her much beyond that. I have lunch with one of her best friends every day (she hasn't retired yet) and she's invited. Now I feel like I have to invite Nancy (the teacher I replaced). I adore her and would love her to be there...but this guest list is outta control!!

What do I do? I know she'd understand...but I feel horrible. She's been more helpful than anyone!!!

Maybe she should be a B-list person then? I'm so freaking out about this guest list!

Thanks!

If she has helped you as much as you say and is still helping when you call then invite her.

good idea. I know how you feel. I invited people to my shower that I didn't invite to the wedding. Just can't do it!

I would invite her!
If she helps you out a lot and you're inviting a good friend of hers, i think it would be nice to invite her!

Invite her. She's not just a casual acquaintance.
Don't B-list, because you have lunch with her best friend everyday and she might say something.

I would invite her only because it sounds like you are both really close. I wouldn't b-list her only because if the other friend says oh I received the invite and hers doesn't come right around the same time it could be akward.

If you absolutely have to then the first no reply you get send it out asap.

Invite her...you'll be amazed at how many 'No' responses you get. I honestly didn't think that I would get more than 10 No's and I'm already on 30 with 10 days left till my RSVP date.

I probably would invite her. Chances are that you are gonna get more than a few no's, cancellations and no shows anyway.

Good luck!

Her best friend actually said Nancy would understand...and I know she would. But yeah, I'd feel bad. The woman has been a godsend to me, even if I don't see her much.

Thanks all!

Re: Should I invite her or no?

We had a few issues with guests like this. We honestly hardly had a 'B' list because we needed to make our minimum - 250
Always figure at least 20% will say no, so I would invite her.

Oh GOD I hope 20% say no!!! I'm at 170 guests here!!! My minimum is 125 and my room isn't that big!! I better have 140 TOPS!!!

Thanks all!

Re: Should I invite her or no?

So funny...you're all for it and I asked my mom and she says
absolutely not!

She thinks since I don't really SEE her (we just really talk on email and I saw her that one time cuz it was quite a project) that Nancy wouldn't expect an invite...

I think I'm gonna talk to her friend today. I know what she'll say though- she'll say Nancy wouldn't be offended. Uggh I hate this stuff!

It's bad enough I'm not inviting cousins!!
