should i just book w/out trial?

i NEEEEEEEEED to book hair and makeup! would it be totally horrible to book someone without a trial??? i have seen lots of their work, but i dont know if thats good enough... I mean at this point i cant be picky anyway, so should I go with my instinct and just book or do you REALLY suggest a trial 1st?? PLEASE HELP!

i just had one by her yesterday. she was awesome - really nice and fun and i liked the way the makeup looked (1 too many eyelashes, but that's what she thought i wanted). she did airbrush and i liked it better than the last trial i had wout.... i think i'm going to book her, but i'm waiting to hear from another girl who is a little cheaper.

unfortunately pics are on fh's camera, but why not just book a trial anyway? it's only $50 and she does weekends

personally, i wouldn't book without a trial. you're obviously choosing vendors you think will do a great job based on what you've seen, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're the right vendor for you. you want personalities to match well, styles to match well, and the trial helps your vendor understand you and your likes and dislikes so she can do even better on the day of.

I agree and strongly suggest a trial.

Definitely do a trial. I learned that the hard way. The makeup from my last trial made me break out in hives at the end of the day and left rough patches on my face that I still have a week later. It wasn't the makeup artists' fault...i just have really sensitive skin..and I reacted to her makeup.

if you've seen their work and you have an iea of what you want to have done, then you canprobably get away without a trial IMO.

I didnt think I needed a trial either. Then I was convinced to get a hair trial and was so glad I did. I hated it and the stylist had a reason/excuse to match every concern I had about the style. Then I knew I couldn't use him. I wasted the $ on the trial but now have more idea of what I like and dont like. So I say try the trial.

What is the advantage of booking without a trial?

Check my album for my hair trial with Kacey. I ended up going with someone else, but she did a nice job. I would suggest going for a trial...she seemed available quickly.

trials are to try them out.

i haven't booked my hair & make up yet because the ones i am waiting to get a trial for keep canceling, are hard to get a hold of and don't seem all that interested in trying to impress me.

i am now searching for someone else to do the trial. i would hate, HATE for any unreliable-ness to seep through on my wedding day. if they are like this now? i don't want to imagine them this way on a day that counts.

trials count for a lot in my book.

I booked w/o a trial, but my makeup and hair people had worked on me twice before (once while in a friend's BP and once for m e-pics). I wouldn't book someone completely blind. You'll find someone, and yes, JMO you should be picky.
