mad at my cousin who isn't attending my bachelorette party? Here is the story:
My cousin who lives upstate, is one of my bridesmaids. We're having my bachelorette the weekend before the wedding because everyone's summer calendars are crazy booked with weddings, etc. This cousin however, cannot make it.
The reason she can't make it is, she is going to a BSB/NKOTB concert in Jersey. I'm sorry but if I was in a wedding party and knew the wedding was the next weekend, I would have found out first before buying the tickets, when the bachelorette party was. Also, I would have given up my tickets or tried to sell them, so I can celebrate with my cousin, whose getting married.
I even asked my MOH if I was crazy to be annoyed. She told me no. She thought the same thing. My cousin should not go to the concert.
So, is it wrong of me to be annoyed/mad at my cousin for not coming to my bachelorette party? What do you girls think? Would you be annoyed/mad at this bridesmaid?

Re: Should I or Shouldn't I be.....
One of my BMs just told me she accidentally booked a trip to visit her sister during the time of my shower... My shower is two weeks away... REALLY??
Bottom line... People are inconsiderate!!!

If she had the tickets before she knew about the bachelorette, you can't be mad
I guess I don't think that everyone can plan everything around when a bride might have an event....and honestly, I would never think that the bachelorette would be the weekend before the wedding!
Sorry you are bummed, but I don't think she is really at fault if she already had the tickets....I know when my sister got her tickets, it was in early Fall....so I'm sure your thing wasn't even scheduled yet

ITA. I think having a bachelorette the series before the wedding is pretty rare, so she probably thought she was 'safe.' I understand why you are frustrated though.

One of my bridesmaids is going to be away for my shower and bachelorette party. Another can't make it because of money issues.
I know I am upset about it, but like people have been saying ' whoever really cares about you will make sure they are there. '
not that they don't care about us, but don't let it damper your fun on your last night as a single lady!! =D

I agree with this. However, One of my BM's had tickets for a concert the weekend of my engagement party. She was super excited about it and had been talking about it for months. She gave up her ticket and came to my party. Sooooo...

Re: Should I or Shouldn't I be.....
as a frustrated brideee I totally get where you are coming from. And I would be annoyed at her...would I show that I am annoyed at her..NO!! I think as a bride sometimes, we think everyone's world revolves around us. Although we think it should (and it should) but why shouldn't you're cousin go to this concert? Are you refunding her money? it sounds like she bought her tickets on a whim, not thinking of everything you might want to do for your wedding. Maybe thinking of doing something for herself. So my answer is yes it is wrong of you to be mad at her....it is annoying she's going to miss it. Let her know you'll miss her at the Bach party, but move on with it.

I don't think you can be mad since she had the tickets before she knew about the b-party. I have 4 of FH's cousin's in my bp and 1 cousin said she can't come to my b-party bc she's going to New Orleans that weekend and another said she doesn't know if she can get a babysitter. I'm not mad, I will have a blast with whoever can make it - and so will you!!

I would be annoyed and maybe a little disappointed but not mad. The closer I get to the wedding the more I realize I have to pick my battles!!!

I totally agree, Its not like its the actual wedding its an added event to the long list of events that some people choose to do for their wedding and she had no idea of the exact date you were doing it. You cant expect people to clear their yearly calender just because were getting married....and its NKOTB (just kidding but I do love them)

Re: Should I or Shouldn't I be.....
I mean, I've missed Showers and Bachelorettes because I had to move, go to another wedding, etc. Things happen, and you can't plan your life around other people's events unless they've been on your calendar forever

lol well I'd personally want to go to a B party over a concert anyway but that's just me....
I don't know....I would think that it would be important to be there. Just because that's what expected in a bridal party and also, I'd want to be there for a close friend. But I also know that we can't expect everyone to revolve their lives around us! JMO anyways

I'm torn on this one. I totally understand you being disappointed because I would be too. However, I also understand the friend's POV. She probably did not realize it would be so close to the wedding.
I'd say don't make a big deal of it though. it sucks, but choose your battles. If she has been great through everything else it was probably an accident.
