Should I or Shouldn't I be.....

Original post by MNM0805

mad at my cousin who isn't attending my bachelorette party? Here is the story:

My cousin who lives upstate, is one of my bridesmaids. We're having my bachelorette the weekend before the wedding because everyone's summer calendars are crazy booked with weddings, etc. This cousin however, cannot make it.

The reason she can't make it is, she is going to a BSB/NKOTB concert in Jersey. I'm sorry but if I was in a wedding party and knew the wedding was the next weekend, I would have found out first before buying the tickets, when the bachelorette party was. Also, I would have given up my tickets or tried to sell them, so I can celebrate with my cousin, whose getting married.

I even asked my MOH if I was crazy to be annoyed. She told me no. She thought the same thing. My cousin should not go to the concert.

So, is it wrong of me to be annoyed/mad at my cousin for not coming to my bachelorette party? What do you girls think? Would you be annoyed/mad at this bridesmaid?

Re: Should I or Shouldn't I be.....

Thanks ladies to all of your feedback. I think I'm more disappointed than mad. I know we are going to have a lot of fun even if she isn't there. I just wanted to have time to spend with my cousins especially since I barely see them as it is.

Oh well. Life happens and I know she didn't know my b-party would be when it is. So in the end, I'm just disappointed but I will definitely not hold it against her nor tell her my feelings about it.

Thanks again for responding!

I would be mad at her just for going to a BSB/NKOTB concert (not to offend any lovers out there!)

as a frustrated brideee I totally get where you are coming from. And I would be annoyed at her...would I show that I am annoyed at her..NO!! I think as a bride sometimes, we think everyone's world revolves around us. Although we think it should (and it should) but why shouldn't you're cousin go to this concert? Are you refunding her money? it sounds like she bought her tickets on a whim, not thinking of everything you might want to do for your wedding. Maybe thinking of doing something for herself. So my answer is yes it is wrong of you to be mad at her....it is annoying she's going to miss it. Let her know you'll miss her at the Bach party, but move on with it.

I totally agree, Its not like its the actual wedding its an added event to the long list of events that some people choose to do for their wedding and she had no idea of the exact date you were doing it. You cant expect people to clear their yearly calender just because were getting married....and its NKOTB (just kidding but I do love them)

Couldn't agree more.

Agree with this

I wouldnt be mad-- personally i HATE bach parties, I mean I always go to my good friends and wedding parties Im in but I freakin HATE them... I think they are dumb hahhaha but that's just my opinion so I wouldnt care if no one came to mine-- it's expensive and usually a waste of all that $ anyway... again just my opinion!
