Everyone is telling me it's a bad idea, but I wanted to use one of the professional pics taken on the cruise for our STDs.

As long as you don't remove it from your finger I think you should be fine.
Although i've heard from people that down in the Caribbean they like to steal from Americans and not to bring expensive jewelery with you.

I think it's fine. Is your ring insured?? FH proposed to me on the first day of a cruise we went on and he said that he was nervous bringing it on the cruise so he made sure that he got it insured ahead of time. I was nervous too..but I ONLY wore it on the ship and always left it in the safe when off the ship, or when going to the pool.

Maybe get a fake one that looks just like it? Nobody would be able to tell if the picture isn't an inch away from it :)

We are going to grand turk, st. thomas, PR, st.marteen. It is insured, but what about in the water on the beach?

there is no ring that looks like mine, I tried to get a fake one and they only have 5 as the smallest size. My fingers are tiny since I lost weight so no rings are fitting. My jeweler told me no way, when I told him I wanted to take it.

If you're taking pics on the beach I would probably be too scared to take it. As previously mentioned, maybe you can buy a fake one that looks similar to your e-ring so that you have peace of mind. I think I would be too scared to take my e-ring with me when going in the water at the beach. I never took mine off the ship on the cruise FH and I went on...it was always in our room safe when we were doing water activities.
eta...nevermind about 'finding a fake ring that's similar'...I just read your other response.

We just came back from the DR and before I left I was sooo worried about taking my ring or not. I wound up buying a fake and it is a bit different than my actual e-ring, I had a little bit more piece of mind when I was traveling.

I've worn it on vacations and whenever it was not on my finger it was in its box in a safe in our room. If you feel uncomfortable wearing it maybe try and find a CZ that closely resembles yours and wear that on the trip.

i took mine on our cruise in january. i wore it on the ship, but when we went down to the pool or onto an island i left it in the safe in the room. didn't want to chance it. but there was no way i could be without my ring for the entire week- i had just gotten engaged a few weeks before, so i was in the 'ooooh it's so sparkly i can't stop staring at it' phase lol
you should be fine, just use your head when you're going ashore- if the place is sketchy and third worldy, leave it in the safe!

I hear ya... I get nervous for things like that... I am on board with the fake ring...
IDK... its s tough call....
Ask some of the girls who went on HM's already.... see what they did.

Id leave it. My dad took her original diamond and made it intro a pendant and she lost it on the beach. She was heartbroken.

10'er crashing. I've taken my ring on cruises before. During the day I left it in the safe in the room but at night when I was all dressed up for dinner and the night, I wanted to wear the ring.

I would probably take it! I got the ring on a trip and I wore it when we went to St. Maarten last summer. I just couldn't go without it!!

If you want to take your STD pics on the cruise I would bring the ring with you and just wear it the day you take the pics. For the rest of the trip leave it in those safes they have in the room. I saw the pics of your ring and I don't think you will find anything fake like it - its gorgeous!!
