Yeah thats probably the biggest reason, with all the wedding finances now I really couldn't even imagine paying for a house, I think i'd have gray hair by now lol. I really give credit to those who are doing both at the same time lol. So yeah even FH knew now about where he will be moved, we still wouldn't buy a house lol

Yeah well for you even more then, the wedding, graduating, finding a job, you have alot on your plate already...Good luck with the job search though, i remember you said something about a guy hooking you up at a show, i think it was Rachael ray

sounds like you're ahead of the game, GOOD LUCK

Yeah Fh likes massapequa so i look at listings at prices, and also compares prices of different areas we are interested in, also the taxes in the area and things like that. I also don't know how they do it seriously, i had to go through the process of buying a few years ago and its alot of stress and alot of time, going back and forth between broker and lawyer for 3 months .

Yeah FH is supposed to be in charge of all the jobs in LI, but the guy now who is the project manager in LI is supposed to go to the city bc he also got promoted but might stay in LI so fh might stay in the city instead of going to LI, we have no clue now

Re: Should newlyweds buy a house

good article Babygirl, he & i were just talking about this a couple nights ago, we're def going to have to wait until at least a couple yrs after the wedding, its such a huge expense that we cant swing both new home & wedding too close together...and once we're married we're going to seriously rethink living in NY

Re: Should newlyweds buy a house

Thanks for the article.

I don't want to buy right away for many of the reason listed. Everyone tells me to buy right away because it's a buyers market but renting and owning both have pros and cons. I think the biggest thing is that we don't have money right now!

yeah alot of people are saying its a buyers market right now but that doesn't mean you put money you don't have into something at the moment.

Right and they go on and on about how you should do it because the prices will just go up in a few years... but I still don't have the money to buy now!
