I am doing my own wedding programs and place cards on the computer, and then getting the invitations printed from a store.
The icons/designs on the invitation aren't available online so I can't transpose them onto the programs and place cards.
Do the programs and place cards need to match then? I found a great design for the place cards but it doesn't really go with the programs. Do guests even care about this stuff?

I dont think they have to match, its a personal decision. I wanted to design everything myself so they would match - but thats just me. It also makes it easy to make decisions about how you want everything to look if you have a cohesive design or theme or color to start from

They don't have to match, but it's a nice touch.
If you want it to match, you could always scan the icon/design. If you don't have a scanner you can always go to kinko's, they have one there that you can use.

I was thinking about scanning in our invitations icons, I do have a scanner at home. I will have to see how that turns out.
Ideally, I would like everything to match but just wasn't sure about etiquette.

it's all a matter of preference...I'd say they dont have to match exactly but should generally fit with a same style

that works...my RH gives us PC's but I am making my own. I got ivory/creme cards and inserted my FH family crest on the side next to the name....thought it was a cute personal touch!

They don't have to match but, I think the placecards & menus should match. As long as you stay with the same color scheme your good.

i am having my invites custom made - but id like to match my ceremony programs and placecards to them as well by at least using the same font and same color cardstocks - i can either have them myself or have them made - i have to see how much time i have and how much it will cost me - it might be easier to just have them made...

I would say that only the programs and place cards would have to match since that is what you'll be using the day of.
I think the invitations can have the same colors (your wedding colors) and still work.

all of our stuff matched, i wouldn't have had it any other way ... i had a certain vision for our wedding, it was really important to me to carry the design throughout ...
the invitations don't have to match if its not possible ...
but i would suggest making sure all the rest of your pieces coordinate with each other.

they dont have to match, but ours will match for the most part. ivory linen paper, same fonts. the only difference is that our invite has a shimmery sheer ivory ribbon and our other pieces will have blue ribbon.
im anal about things matching and i love our fonts
