Should we change the date???

Were at a family function and were talking about the wedding. Some have stated that some companies won't give July 4th next year because it's a Wednesday!!! Ugh I am so stressed. I'd we change the date to vet the big room we need to garentee 125 people. Also we would have to pay for the cermony which is 750 and there would most likely be another party as well. Ugh what should we do?????

I think you should be fine. I'm pretty sure legally they have to give off since it's a national holiday.

Ugh and now they are saying a lot of people take vacations that week to! Annoying people :( nothing can ever be Ok

I got married on a Thursday, and expected no one to come lol We were over our minimum by 25! Whoever wants to be there will be there, don't stress yourself out. Do what is best for you, FH and your families.

exactly, nothing will ever be perfect and people won't stop being annoying even if you change the date so dont drive yourself crazy

Independence Day is July 4th. The fact that it falls on a Wednesday doesn't mean anything. I wouldn't even give this a second thought.

This. FH and I had this same conversation since our wedding is on a Thursday if they really care and love you they will be there no matter what.

I agree with everyone else. Whoever wants to be there will be there. People will never be 100% happy.

Keep the date. Send out STD's as soon as it's a definite for you.
We are having our wedding on a Thursday and are confident that whoever wants to be there, will be there.

Don't stress, it'll work out.

Most companies will give the day off. I wouldn't stress about it.

4th of July was on a Monday & most people had off this year. & if you send out STD's then they can put in for it & take off.. My wedding is on Monday, Labor Day. As of now I'm getting a lot of yes' & the no's are the ones I expected... If they really love you they will be there whether its a day during the week or a saturday night wedding. With this much notice they can take off of work, it's not like your giving short notice. You can't make everyone happy...

Independence Day is July 4th, it doesn't matter what day of the week it falls on, it is still a Federal Holiday and places will close. Don't worry about it.

I wouldn't change the date - people can try to work things out to be there. It's your day and you need to do what's best for you.

I've gone back and forth with concerns about having a holiday weekend, but you'll be fine!! People will definitely come- I would love a party half way through the week!! lol
