So my FH and i Went attended a wedding and his side of the family (bengali) are accustomed to a buffet setting. My family likes the sit down. I don't mind at all i don't think that my family would mind either way. Is anyone planning on doing a buffet style? Has anyone been to a buffet style reception? TIA LADIES!!!
We had buffet style for our eparty and it went smoothly... if it is tradition for his side then go for it!

We'll be having a sitdown dinner but I've been to the buffet weddings as well. For me it had it's pros and cons - didn't like having to wait on the lines, but glad I didn't have to waste any food since I was only taking what I wanted.
I've been to buffet weddings and the food was good. A lot of places won't do it for weddings though.
i went to a buffet wedding last week..they chose it so that people didnt have to waste time with a sit down dinner and could keep dancing. Unfortunately, the line was so long that it ended up takng more time!
Your CH could be Bengali style, buffet with cultural foods . . . then the reception can be a sit down meal!
Since im doing a 100% vegetarian wedding its going to be buffet so you can grab whatever you want. Luckily im having a small wedding (120 people) so I dont see lines being that big of an issue. I have to say though if I was having a meat serving wedding id do sit down. I think if you have a lot of guests - like more than 160 or so id do a sit down.
This is what I'm doing... buffet for the CH and sit down for the RH...I'll also be having the ones go around for hor-dourves... (can't spell LOL)... I know people in my family wouln't want to stand on line for a while to get food at a wedding. None the less our engagement party was buffet... there seemed to be a line most of the party...oy... Do whatever seems good to YOU!
i dont think Leonards do buffet style?? at least they never offered it to me when i was there? i say do whichever is best for you, if they do offer buffet, then its cheaper then sit down.
do something inbetween... like family style... it give the option for people to take however much they want without having to get up !!!
I have never done a buffet style but don't think I'd mind it at all as long as the lines move fairly quickly!
Thanks ladies!!!! I spoke to my FH and he said that buffet would be better b/c both sides of the family loves to dance and when they go and sit down they may sit somewhere else and start moving. BUT I came up with a plan to announce for the guest to sit where THEY BELONG....lol. I feel that a sit down is soo much nicer. So he agreed yayyyy for me..hehehehehe Thanks girlys!!
I personally don't care for buffet style weddings. Because you have to wait to get called to go and get your food. It makes it feel like an all you can eat. JMO
