So we are hosting our own e -party and wedding and are trying to save some money. How would it look if we did not offer alchool? We are renting a hall having a dj, and spent our money fore very good food. Thanks girls for your help!

Re: Should we have alchool at e-party?
well for me, i am just having caraffes of wine put out but thats it. The alchohol package was like $10 more a person and we weren't willing to spend that much more.
ETA: This is for my eparty.

Is this a day or night party? If you want to conserve, you could provide beer and wine for an evening party. For an afternoon I would still serve some sort of alcohol...maybe wine or a punch. If you have friends and family that are drinkers...you should offer something.

You could always provide your own bottles of wine to put out on the tables.
But I don't think alcohol is NEEDED.

i would do just beer & wine if u're trying to save..that way u're not paying for open bar, but people can still have a drink if they want

I agree with this, just do beer and wine.

We did a backyard party, but we wanted to have something alcoholic -- we made an alcoholic champagne punch with some fruit floating in it and that worked out well. we just made sure to label it so no kids would accidentally drink it!
if you want to save money, try just going one type of drink or just a choice of red and white wine.

definitely. I would stay away from open bar. But even if you want NO drinks, I don't personally feel like it's that big a deal. My sister didn't have ANY alcohol at her wedding and it was fine.

I def. think you should have at least beer and wine. Hard Liquor is not a must for an e-party

this is a good idea too... u can always do beer and then a big bowl of punch (ya know, that way if a dude wants a drink he doesn't have to carry around a pink drink u'd majorly save on not having wine too!)

I would at least put bottles of red & white on the tables. IDK i started out for our eparty (which we paid for ourselves at a Villa) with just beer wine & soda because my family doesnt reallly drink the other stuff. Well we then we decided to do a full open bar top shelf with martini's cosmo's u name it & let me tell you that went off well because everyone was drinking green apple tini's & the cosmo's. Boy i was shocked. I thought most would just want wine. Go figure! What fun we had!

we did beer, wine, soda, water, 2 bottles of wine on the tables (one red one white), and beer, soda and water were in a cooler thing - like one of this silver tub basin things....our party was outside under a tent so it was a little more casual....but we still did alchohol and still did wine on the tables

I agree that you should have something unless your family is against alcohol.
You can probably get a few cases of wine fairly inexpensive and then put 2 bottles on each table.
Plus, you need something to toast...Wine is perfect.

I would do at least beer and wine.... IMO if you are spending the money on an eparty that should be available before a DJ.

Re: Should we have alchool at e-party?
Ok girl thanks so much for the help! I thought we should but both parents said save money and let the guest buy there own. We can't bring in alchool you have to buy from hall, not even a punch. I think we will to give certain amount of money to the bar and if it runs out it runs out but at least meet half way, since they don't do a per person charge. Thanks for all the help!

Re: Should we have alchool at e-party?
I think you should serve some kind of alcohol... How could you have a party in a hall with a DJ and not serve alcohol?
If you were looking to save money you should have considered somewhere else that was more affordable to your budget. JMO...
ETA: I would be pretty pi$$ed if I showed up to an e-party, with a nice gift in hand and half way through the day I'm stuck buying my own gin and tonics b/c the tab was spent.
