I'd say do it now if you have time. That way they know you received their gift.

The only thing is that I wanted to have photo thank you cards made with a nice wedding pic of us.
I guess I can thank them informally via email now and mail a formal thank you letter later?

If you do that though..don't you run the chance that they may think the email is the only thank you they might get? Or are you planning on telling them that a formal TY will follow? In that case..then go for it!!

that's a good idea i know that we hate it when ppl dont respond that they recieved our gifts :)
